TOP BRACKET FOR FALL PROTECTION SAFETY SYSTEM
20210146172 · 2021-05-20 ·

A top bracket for supporting a safety cable of a vertical climbing fall protection system, the bracket including a base plate and a pivotally deflectable plate that is integrally and pivotally connected to the base plate by a neck. The top bracket may also include an abutment plate with a forward abutment surface that is separated from a rearward abutment surface of the pivotally deflectable plate by an elongate gap.

BENDABLE HOUSING FOR FALL PROTECTION LOCKING SYSTEM

A locking system is provided for fall protection. The locking system includes a housing. The housing defines a guide path through which the housing is slideably attached to a guide member. The locking system also includes a braking lever having a braking end. The braking lever is configured to rotate so as to allow the braking end to engage the guide member. The guide path defines at least one bending slot configured to allow the housing to deform in response to a predetermined amount of force being applied by the guide member upon the housing. A housing for a locking system is also provided.

Fall Arrest Assembly

A fall arrest assembly includes a pole that is mountable to a tree. A pair of mounts is provided and each of the mounts is mountable to the tree. Each of the mounts engages the pole for mounting the pole to the tree. A body harness is provided that is wearable on a user. A slide is slidably positionable on the pole when the pole is mounted to the tree. The slide frictionally engages the pole when more than a trigger force is exerted on the slide such that the slide resists sliding on the pole. A lanyard is removably attachable between the body harness and the slide. The slide is exposed to a force that exceeds the trigger force when the lanyard supports the weight of the user. In this way the slide inhibits the user from falling rapidly to the ground when the user falls from the tree stand.

Shuttle for a climbing protection system

A shuttle (20) for a climbing protection system (10) is provided and includes a clamping member (26) mounted on a frame (22) for movement between a an opening position, a free position wherein the shuttle (20) can move freely along an elongate support member (12), and a clamping position wherein the clamping member (26) resists movement of the shuttle (20) relative to the elongate support member (12), and an anti-inversion member (30) mounted on the frame (22) for movement between a first closed position blocking insertion of the elongate support member (12) and an open position where the anti-inversion member (30) does not block insertion of the elongate support member (12). The anti-inversion member movable from the open position to the closed position when the shuttle (20) is moved from a desired orientation to a non-desired orientation relative to gravity with the clamping member (26) in the opening position and wherein the clamping member (26) and the anti-inversion member (30) are engaged to maintain the clamping member (26) in the opening position when the shuttle (20) is in the non-desired orientation.

A safety climb attenuation apparatus provides a more robust and visually inspectable apparatus for climbing safety. In an upper bracket, a pivot arm is attached to a base that is disposed upon a structure. The upper bracket includes an attenuation member such as an elastic bushing, mounted on the pivot arm or the base, that resists pivoting of the pivot arm relative to the base when a safety cable attached to the pivot arm causes the pivot arm to pivot. In a lower bracket, a similar attenuation member is attached to a base disposed on the structure, with an anchor bolt connecting the cable to the attenuation member so that the attenuation member resists upward movement of the cable.

CONTROLLED DESCENDER AND/OR ASCENDER DEVICE
20230414978 · 2023-12-28 ·

A variable speed controlled device used for descending, ascending or descending and ascending along a rope such as used in mountain climbing, tree climbing, rescue operations and the like. A friction mechanism controls the speed of the movement of the device along a rope line. A person can quickly and freely ascend a steep slope along a rope line using the device. A person can also descend a steep slope along a rope line and be confident that a friction mechanism will control the rate of descent. An optional locking mechanism may assist with allowing rapid ascent. An optional e-brake mechanism can further ensure the device will lock and prevent further downward movement if the person begins a freefall. The device allows other persons (e.g., a teammate, guide or rescue agency) to safely lower incapacitated or unconscious persons down an alpine mountain, burning building, cliff or the like.

Fall Prevention System
20210016114 · 2021-01-21 ·

A fall prevention system (FPS) that is placed adjacent a multi-level structure such as a frame building, that is being constructed. The FPS has a lower anchor, at least one vertical member, at least one connecting member and an upper member with or without a horizontal section. The number of vertical members utilized depends on the number of levels the structure has. The vertical members are preferably made of metal and are dimensioned to correspond to either the height of a single structure level, or the height of another structure locations such as a peaked roof. The FPS is secured to the ground surface by bolts inserted through the anchor, and at least one securing cable that is attached to cable securing means on the FPS and to a location on the structure. An individual working on the structure wears a harness to which is secured one end of a harness cable. The other end of the harness cable is attached to the cable securing means on the FPS. If the individual is about to fall from the structure, the harness cable locks, thereby stopping the fall occurring.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for a fire escape device in form of ladder that can pivotally be mounted to a support platform in form of a window opening or a balcony railing or fix to an interior wall with anchors and provides a safe escape route in case of fires primarily because of its safety cord system. The assembly allows users to fasten a safety belt/harness/full body harness around his body and attaches its lanyard to the top part of the safety cord with a pair of carabiners. Once secured user can start descending and due to the length of each safety cord being about two meters, user must reattach the harness/belt's lanyard to the next safety cord while descending.
