FALL PROTECTION SAFETY APPARATUS
A fall protection safety apparatus is provided for use with fall protection assemblies such as those including a harness and tethering element (such as a cable, Lanyard, or strap) for attaching a person occupying the upper level of a multiple level structure. The safety apparatus includes a base post connected to a base level concrete slab and a mast connected to the base post, extending upward through the upper working level and providing an attachment mechanism for connecting the tethering element thereto. The safety apparatus provides a strong and stationary attachment point for connecting the person occupying the upper working level, regardless of whether a suitable stationary feature exists on the structure itself or is close enough to the area where the person must work. The safety apparatus may be positioned as desired on the base and working levels and even relocated to different base and working levels.
CLIMBING WALL COMPRISING TRACK-BASED SUPPORT HARNESS
The present invention is directed to a climbing wall comprising a climbing surface and a climbing assistance assembly that provides a disabled child with an opportunity to utilize the climbing wall. The climbing assistance assembly comprises a track mounted above at least a portion of the climbing surface and spanning at least a portion of the length of the climbing surface. A trolley, from which a rope is suspended, is configured to travel along the track. The rope is coupled both to the trolley and to a harness. The climbing assistance assembly may further include a fall arrest device configured to lower an end of the rope coupled to the harness from an elevated position to a rest position in a controlled manner. Because the trolley is configured to travel with a user wearing the harness as the user traverses a length of the climbing surface, the fall arrest device is positioned substantially directly above the user throughout the user's climbing experience, ensuring that if the user falls, the descent will occur in a safe and controlled manner.
Anchor
The present invention is directed to an anchor for anchoring to an elevated worksite. The anchor includes a shock absorbing portion configured to progressively distort under sudden loading, the shock absorbing portion having one or more serpentine shaped members each defining one or more serpentine shaped curves visible from a front view of the shock absorbing portion, the shock absorbing portion having a curved profile defining one or more curves visible from a side view of the shock absorbing portion. The curved profile is configured to progressively distort under sudden loading so as to provide a first level of shock absorption, and the serpentine shaped curves are configured to progressively distort under sudden loading to provide a second level of shock absorption.
FALL PROTECTION CABLE SYSTEM FOR ROOFING INSTALLATION ON STEEL BUILDINGS AND METHOD OF USE AND INSTALLATION THEREOF
A fall protection cable system configured for installation of a roof on a steel building includes a starting support post, a final support post, and a support cable. The starting support post is configured for attachment to a first side of the steel building and has a bottom starting end configured to attach to the first side of the steel building and a top starting end extending above the roof. The final support post is configured for attachment to a second side of the steel building and has a bottom final end configured to attach to the second side of the steel building and a top final end extending above the roof on the second side. The support cable is configured to be connected at an elevated position above the roof of the steel building between the top starting end and the top final end.
GARMENT INCLUDING A GARMENT PORT
A garment having an inner surface and an outer surface for use with a safety strap, the garment comprising a collar configured to at least partially encircle an upper portion of the garment, a garment port arranged on or adjacent to the collar forming a channel between the inner surface and the outer surface of the garment, the garment port having at least three sides, one of the sides being open to form the channel, a flap coupled to the collar and configured to move between a closed configuration covering the port and allowing passage of the safety strap through the channel between the inner surface and the outer surface of the garment and an open configuration allowing removal of the safety strap through the open side of the port, and a closure device arranged with the flap and configured to maintain the flap in the closed configuration.
FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM FOR ROOF WORK
A fall restraint for a worker on a roof comprising a yoke line, wherein a first end of the yoke line is releasably connected to a first building structure and a second end of the yoke line is releasably connected to a second building structure. The fall restraint also comprises a support line, wherein a first end of the support line is slidably connected to the yoke line, and a second end of the support line is connected to a worker harness, wherein the support line is adapted to travel over a ridge line of the roof and at least partially support the weight of the worker.
Fall restraint system
The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.
Fall arrest anchor
A post anchor is provided for securing a post within a poured concrete slab. The post anchor comprises a socket having a first cavity sized to receive the post therein. A jacket member is adapted to mount over at least a portion of the socket. At least one tensile member is mounted to, and extending from, the jacket member. The jacket and tensile members function to reinforce the socket and to distribute any forces exerted upon the post anchor further into the surrounding concrete. The socket may be provided in a variety of heights, to allow the post anchor to be easily adapted to a variety of slab depths.
Energy absorber cover and horizontal lifeline system including the same
A cover for an energy absorber for use in a horizontal lifeline system includes four cover pieces structured to interlock together to form the cover. Each cover piece includes an interlocking section structured to slide into the interlocking section of another one of the cover pieces, a number of tabs, and a number of tab receivers. The number of tabs are structured to snap together with the tab receivers of another one of the cover pieces and the number of tab receivers are structured to snap together with the tabs of another one of the cover pieces.
A FALL PROTECTION SAFETY RAIL SYSTEM
A fall protection safety rail system has a rail defining a trolley channel therein. The rail also defines exterior side and top attachment channels. The system has a support which engages the side attachment channels to support the rail either side thereof. One type of support may comprise a hanger channel bracket having a web and flanges spaced apart so that the flanges fit against the sides of the rail. The side and top attachment channels may be dual-purposed for connecting rail sections together using respective splices. Furthermore, the side attachment channels may overlap with the trolley channel along a vertical axis but not along a horizontal axis to confer a low profile rail configuration having enhanced resilience and capability.
