Connection device with improved handle
A connection device comprises a connector forming a ring with an open position and a closed position. A handle is fixed to the connector and has two extensions receiving a user's hands. The handle defines a tube extending in a first direction and a through hole arranged to pass through the tube perpendicularly to the first direction. A first end of a wire member forms a loop fixed to the connector in the tube. The second end of the wire member is fixed to the user. The connector passes through the through hole and the loop to fix the handle and the wire member to the connector.
Posts for use in fall protection
A post system for use in fall protection includes a connector to connect to a structure and a support in operative connection with a lifeline to maintain the lifeline at a first height above the structure. When a first threshold force is experienced on the lifeline, the support is operable to lower the lifeline to a second height which is lower than the first height. The ratio of a change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to a change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline (or the ΔL/ΔH ratio) is less than 1. The ratio of the change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to the change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline may also be less than 0.5 or less than 0.4.
Fall arrest system
A fall arrest system includes a ladder configured to provide access to an elevated structure and a fall arrest device configured to be secured to the elevated structure, the fall arrest device including an upper anchor, the upper anchor including a first end configured to be secured to the elevated structure and a second end distal from the first end.
Ballasted fall prevention apparatus
A rooftop safety system for protecting persons from falling off a rooftop environment by employing fall protection which may include a ballasted fall prevention apparatus, and a fall protection anchor coupled to the ballasted fall prevention apparatus. A fall protection anchor may include an attachment device adapted to couple the fall protection anchor to a structure, an anchorage connector adapted to connect personal fall protection equipment to the fall protection anchor to deploy fall restraint. In one embodiment, an integral strain indicator made of a degradable material is placed within the fall protection anchor, and after a certain amount of force indicative of a fall impact is reached, deforms giving a visual indication to safety inspectors that a fall event has occurred. In an alternative embodiment the strain indicator can be formed into a housing which covers an attachment device as well as the post the attachment device is attached to.
Portable Truss Cable Roofing Safety Apparatus and Method
A portable truss cable roofing safety apparatus and method to assist users while working on the roof of a building structure. The portable apparatus provides a pair of similar opposing vertical trusses mounted adjacent opposite sides of the building structure. At least one brace is adaptable for securing each of the pair of vertical trusses to the building structure. A cable is connected to and extends between the pair of vertical trusses. An automatic belay device slidably is connected to the cable and has a safety line connected thereto, wherein the automatic belay device adjusts a length of the safety line to assist the user when the user is connected to the safety line.
FALL-PROTECTION SYSTEM WITH MONITORING SYSTEM
A fall-protection system including a harness and a fall-protection apparatus with a lifeline bearing a connector configured to be connected to the harness; and, a fall-protection monitoring system with a base unit and with at least one sensor module configured to sense a condition of the connector and to communicate a signal indicative of the condition of the connector to the base unit.
Anchorage assembly and method of using
An anchorage assembly including first and second plates that are slidably movable relative to each other, each plate comprising an upper head with an outwardly-extending flange, and the first plate including at least one spreader ramp positioned in an upper portion of the first plate.
Safety post
A safety device for securing a person to a floor panel of a shuttering system. A base element secures a safety post. The base element can be placed on a floor panel of a shuttering system. The safety post has a personal safety element, to which the person can be selectively secured. A securing mechanism has a securing carrier, on which at least one engaging element is arranged, wherein the securing carrier is coupled to the base element. The engaging element can be adjusted into a securing position and a release position, wherein the engaging element can be engaged with the shuttering system in the securing position in order to fix the base element to the floor panel, and wherein the engaging element can be decoupled from the shuttering system in the release position in order to decouple the base element from the floor panel.
MOBILE ANCHOR CART
A method for using a mobile anchor cart assembly can include repositioning the mobile anchor cart assembly from an anchored position to a mobile position on a ground surface, mobile anchor cart assembly including a cart, the cart including a frame resting upon the ground surface in the anchored position, the frame clearing the ground surface in the mobile position; and an axle assembly mounted to the frame, the axle assembly clearing the ground surface in the anchored position, the axle assembly contacting the ground surface in the mobile position; and a load defining a load center of gravity, the load center of gravity being vertically aligned over at least a portion of the axle assembly in the anchored position; and rolling the mobile anchor cart assembly along the ground surface with the axle assembly.
Toggle and assembly of toggle and support member
A toggle includes a bearer plate which defines a surface for bearing, in use, against the confronting surface of a support structure and a pair of support plates secured to the bearer plate and spaced apart to pivotally support there between a barrel, the barrel being integral with or connectable to a connector whereby, in use, the connector may secure the toggle bearer plate against the confronting surface of a support structure, at least the bearer plate of the toggle being formed from mild steel. There is provided also an assembly of the toggle and a support member, with the connector extending through the support member to secure the bearer plate against a confronting surface of the support member.
