HYDRAULIC CONNECTION

Disclosed is a system comprising a variator and a transmission. The transmission housing includes a mounting joint transmission face and one or more transmission ports disposed in the mounting joint transmission face that are fluidly connected in a one-to-one correspondence to one or more transmission channels in the transmission housing. The variator housing may comprise a mounting joint variator face coupled to the mounting joint transmission face and one or more variator ports disposed in the mounting joint variator face. The one or more variator ports may be fluidly connected in a one-to-one correspondence to one or more variator channels in the variator housing. The one or more variator ports are fluidly connected in a one-to-one correspondence to the one or more transmission ports without the use of one or more external hoses to fluidly connect the one or more variator ports to the one or more transmission ports.

Hydrostatic torque converter and torque amplifier

An example includes a hydraulically controllable coupling to couple a rotating input and to an output to rotate, or to decouple the input and the output, with coupling and decoupling modes selected by switching a hydraulic device such as a vane pump between a pumping mode and a mode in which it does not pump. In an example, the system cooperates with a transmission to increase the number of possible gear ratios in some examples.

A filter component includes a cartridge portion including a filter media, and a plug assembly on which the cartridge portion is mounted and in fluid communication with the cartridge portion. The plug assembly comprises a first plug and a second plug, the first plug being larger than the second plug. The second plug is fixed to an inner surface of the first plug in an installed state and is removable from the first plug in a draining state. The first plug further defines a drain port, wherein in the installed state the second plug plugs the drain port and in a draining state the second plug is removed from the first plug to permit draining fluid through the drain port. The filter component may be incorporated into a hydrostatic transmission to permit controlled draining of fluid from the hydrostatic transmission that does not result in an oil mess.

A second element fixing clutch is switchable between a released state and an engaged state. In the released state, the second element fixing clutch releases a second element of a planetary gear mechanism so that the second element is rotatable. In the engaged state, the second element fixing clutch fixes the second element of the planetary gear mechanism so that the second element is non-rotatable. A transmission is switchable between at least two modes of a first continuously variable transmission mode, a second continuously variable transmission mode, and a direct mode, by the second element fixing clutch being switched between the released state and the engaged state.

Hydraulic Motor with Anti-Cogging Features

An example hydraulic motor comprises: a stator comprising (i) a stator body having plurality of roller pockets, wherein the stator body comprises a plurality of grooves that are longitudinally-extending, and (ii) a plurality of rollers disposed respectively in the plurality of roller pockets; a rotor having a plurality of external teeth configured to engage with the plurality of rollers of the stator, such that the plurality of rollers and the plurality of external teeth define fluid chambers therebetween configured to expand and contract as the rotor rotates within the stator; and an anti-cogging passage configured to provide pressurized fluid from at least one of the fluid chambers to at least one groove of the plurality of grooves of the stator body, such that pressurized fluid provided to the at least one groove applies a radially-inward force on a respective roller toward the rotor.
