Fall arrest lanyard with restraint relief arrangement
10532234 · 2020-01-14 ·

A fall arrest lanyard includes a strap body having a fastening end, a securing end, and a relief portion, and restraint relief arrangement being actuated between a normal operated condition and a relief condition. The restraint relief arrangement includes first and second connectors spacedly affixed at the strap body to define the relief portion thereof between the first and second connectors. At the normal operated condition, the second connector is detachably connected to the first connector to shorten a length of the relief portion of the strap body. At the relief condition, the second connector is detached from the first connector, so that the relief portion is able to be fully extended to create a relief length for allowing the user to escape restraint when the user is restrained by the strap body.

LANYARD AND PPE DETECTION SYSTEM

A lift device includes a chassis, a platform configured to support an operator, the platform including an attachment point configured to engage a lanyard to secure the operator to the platform, a lift assembly coupling the platform to the chassis and configured to raise the platform relative to the chassis, a sensor configured to provide sensor data indicative of engagement between the attachment point and the lanyard, and a controller operatively coupled to the sensor. The controller is configured to determine, based on the sensor data, if the lanyard is engaged with the attachment point. In response to a determination that the lanyard is not engaged with the attachment point, the controller is configured to at least one of (a) activate an alarm to provide a notification to alert the operator that the lanyard is not engaged with the attachment point or (b) limit movement of the lift device.

Fall-Protection System with Monitoring System

A fall-protection system including a harness and a fall-protection apparatus with a lifeline bearing a connector configured to be connected to the harness; and, a fall-protection monitoring system with a base unit and with at least one sensor module configured to sense a condition of the connector and to communicate a signal indicative of the condition of the connector to the base unit.

Trauma Relief Strap Assembly for Safety Harness

A trauma relief strap assembly has a relief strap with a first strap and a second strap connected to the first strap at two or more connection points along a major longitudinal length of the relief strap. The relief strap further has one or more steps formed as a closed loop between two adjacent connection points. Each step has a longitudinal portion extending in a direction of the major longitudinal length of the relief strap and defined by one of the first strap and the second strap, and a lateral portion protruding laterally from the longitudinal portion and defined by the other of the first strap and the second strap.

Self belay arrangement for climbing applications

The present invention relates to a self belay arrangement (1) for fall arrest systems, in particular for climbing applications, comprising a locking device (10), to which a rope (11) is attachable, and a connector element (12), which is performed to be attached to a safety harness of a user and to which the locking device (10) is coupled when the user intends to climb up a climbing wall (13), a ladder or other extending structures. According to the invention a retainer element (14) is provided, whereas the retainer element (14) is performed to hold the locking device (10) when the connector element (12) is detached from the locking device (10), and whereas the retainer element (14) interacts with the locking device (10) in such a manner that the connector element (12) must be coupled to the locking device (10) in order to disconnect the locking device (10) from the retainer element (14), Further the invention is directed to a method for connecting and disconnecting a locking device (10) to and from a connector element (12).

Belaying lanyard equipped with improved swivel connection
10512821 · 2019-12-24 · ·

Lanyard having at least one belaying strap connected with a swivel connection which comprises two assembly parts able to rotate with respect to one another with a relative rotational movement. The two assembly parts of tubular shape are engaged coaxially in one another, the first outer part having a larger diameter than that of the second inner part. At least one of the parts is provided with a slot or hole for fitting securing means designed to secure the two parts in rotation in the engaged state. Applications: safety and securing lanyards for via ferrata, caving, mountaineering.

Distance-learning safety retraction lanyard

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a distance-learning safety retraction device (DLSRD) mechanically coupled to a fixed anchor point on a boundary-mapped surface, the DLSRD including two receivers in operable communication with a transmitter borne on a user. In an illustrative example, the DLSRD may determine an angle between a lanyard coupled to the user and a vertical plane between the two receivers. The DLSRD may include, for example, an extraction detector detecting an extracted length of the lanyard. The DLSRD may determine user proximity to a safe operating area boundary based upon a difference of a current extracted length of the lanyard to a learned extracted length associated with a current angle of the lanyard, for example. Various DLSRDs may be configured in a run-mode to apply a braking effect to the lanyard and/or to activate a warning device based upon the user's proximity to the boundary.

CLAMPING DEVICE FOR A WIRE ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR CLAMPING A WIRE ELEMENT

A clamping device includes a roller rotating around an axis. A member is fixed to the roller. The member is designed to contact a clamp. The member is mounted movable with respect to the axis to contact the clamp or not. Rotation of the roller generates a centrifugal force designed to move the member towards the clamp. When the speed of rotation of the roller reaches a threshold value, the member contacts the clamp to block the roller. The roller is provided with a stop mounted fixedly to the roller and has a fourth contact area. In the second member position, a third contact area of the member is pressing on the fourth contact area. The third contact area is arranged opposite the second contact area.

Lanyard Connection Device with Quick Release Gate and Built-In Length Adjuster
20240075324 · 2024-03-07 ·

A lanyard connection device combines, in a singular piece of hardware, a movable gate for opening and closing a load-receiving eye of the device, a lock for holding the gate closed, a user-actuated quick release operably associated with the lock, and a length adjuster configured for engagement with a lanyard at an intermediate location between anchoring and tail ends thereof. The adjuster is manipulatable between a holding state preventing displacement between the device and lanyard, and an adjustment state releasing the hold to enable user-adjustment of the lanyard's working length. To prevent inadvertent opening of the eye, the quick release comprises multiple actuators that require simultaneous actuation thereof to release the lock from the locking position. The adjuster features a slidable bollard that receives wrapped engagement of the lanyard and, in the holding state, clamps the wrapped segment thereof against a neighboring clamping surface.
