The non-conductive support layer can include a plurality of non-conductive strands arranged to form a plurality of apertures. The intumescent coating can be disposed on at least a portion of the plurality of non-conductive strands. The intumescent coating can be configured to expand to at least partially close a portion of the plurality of apertures upon the intumescent coating being heated to a temperature greater than or equal to a threshold temperature.

The invention relates to a ventilating firestop (10), comprising a load-bearing mesh (12) fitted with an intumescent (14), wherein the mesh (12) is malleable to a completely or partially confined volume (22), and the intumescent (14) applied to the mesh (12) forms a stripe pattern of intumescent spaced apart and with ventilating openings (30) between the stripes. At least the intumescent (14) in a plane which is exposed by fire forms a fine mesh and rapidly expandable stripe pattern which, during the fire attack phase, seals the openings (30) and forms a fire-insulating shield (40), and the intumescent (14) located separately from the shield (40), after formation of the shield (40), is expandable to subsequently fills up the remaining volume (22) in the firestop (10).

A concrete structure with a corrugated bottom surface has a pipe passing through a passage in the structure. A fire stop assembly has a first portion with a split plate, split cage, split intumescent ring, split inner smoke ring and split outer smoke ring each fastened together to rotate together about a hinge on the split cage. The fire stop assembly has a second portion of the split plate, split cage, split intumescent ring, split inner smoke ring and split outer smoke ring fastened together to rotate together about a hinge. The first and second portions have free ends that spread apart to fit around the tube in an open position, and close around the tube in a closed position.

A battery module effectively suppresses a fire even when high-temperature gas or sparks are generated therein due to thermal propagation. The battery module includes a cell assembly configured such that secondary batteries having electrode leads are stacked in at least one direction; a module case configured to accommodate the cell assembly in an inner space thereof; a bus bar assembly located on at least one side of the module case and including a module bus bar made of an electrically conductive material and electrically connected to the electrode leads of the cell assembly and a bus bar housing configured so that the module bus bar is placed thereon and having a slot through which the electrode lead passes; and a blocking member located at the slot of the bus bar housing to close at least a portion of the slot by transforming a shape thereof when heat is applied thereto.

The metal-polymer laminate structure includes a metallic layer, at least one polymeric layer provided on the metallic layer, and a backing layer provided on the at least one polymeric layer. The at least one polymeric layer includes an intumescent material, and a first functional layer is interposed between the metallic layer and the at least one polymeric layer. The first functional layer is a thermoplastic layer constructed from a material selected from polyamide, thermoplastic polyurethane, hotmelts, preferably polyamides such as PA6, PA6/6.36, PA6/66, PA12, PA6.12, PA6.10, PA6I/6T, copolymers of caprolactam or lauryllactam, thermoplastic polyurethane, and polyether block co-polyamides or combinations thereof.

A firestop collar is arranged around a duct at a passage through a partition. The firestop collar includes an outer casing of sheet metal and an inner lining of intumescent material. The outer casing has a first end portion and a second end portion adapted to be mutually connected so as to maintain the firestop collar in a closed position around a duct. A locking member is formed integrally with the casing at the first end portion and a catch member is integrally formed with the casing at the second end portion. The catch member includes a sheet metal strip extending spaced apart from the outer surface of the casing to define a slot between the catch member and the outer surface of the casing.

A fire protection cuff having a coat made of fire-resistant material and a strip made of intumescent material is characterized in that the coat includes a flexible mat, which is folded over around at least one of the longitudinal edges of the intumescent strip, so that the coat surrounds the intumescent strip at least on one large face and one of the two longitudinal edges.
