A vehicle includes a heat exchanger, a transmission, and a controller. The transmission is configured to transfer power within a powertrain. The transmission has a primary fluid circuit, a secondary fluid circuit, and a valve. The secondary fluid circuit is configured to divert the fluid from the primary fluid circuit and deliver the fluid to the heat exchanger. The valve is configured to control diverting fluid from the primary fluid circuit to the secondary fluid circuit. The controller is programmed to, in response to a temperature of the fluid being outside of a desired range, open the valve to direct the fluid toward the heat exchanger via the secondary fluid circuit. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the temperature of the fluid being within the desired range, close the valve to isolate the fluid from the secondary fluid circuit and the heat exchanger.

An electro-mechanical transmission shifter preferably includes a first actuator, a second actuator, a shift linkage device, actuator mounting bracket, a programmable controller and a gear shift remote. The shift linkage device includes a mounting base plate, a first transmission shifting bracket, a second transmission shifting bracket and a linkage rod. The linkage rod couples the first and second transmission shifting brackets. The actuation rods of the first and second actuators are pivotally connected to the first and second transmission shifting brackets, respectively. A mounting end of the first and second actuators are retained on the actuator mounting bracket with first and second clevis blocks. The programmable controller receives a signal from a gear selector remote to change a gear in a transmission. The programmable controller also monitors the electrical current sent to the first and second actuators.

The secondary fluid circuit is configured to divert the fluid from the primary fluid circuit and deliver the fluid to the heat exchanger. The valve is configured to control diverting fluid from the primary fluid circuit to the secondary fluid circuit. The controller is programmed to, in response to a temperature of the fluid being outside of a desired range, open the valve to direct the fluid toward the heat exchanger via the secondary fluid circuit. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the temperature of the fluid being within the desired range, close the valve to isolate the fluid from the secondary fluid circuit and the heat exchanger.

A solenoid assembly includes a solenoid adapted to be coupled to a solenoid connecting member extending from a support member. The solenoid assembly also includes a retaining bracket having a body portion and a securing portion. The body portion is adapted to be removably coupled to the support member. The securing portion is removably coupled to the solenoid. The retaining bracket is moveable between an unsecured position, and a secured position. The securing portion of the retaining bracket provides a spring force to the solenoid when the retaining bracket is in the secured position such that the solenoid is biased toward the solenoid connecting member to secure the solenoid between the solenoid connecting member and the securing portion of said retaining bracket.

Accordingly, the gear actuator can have a more compact structure and be easily assembled by modularization.
