SHIFT DEVICE
A shift device includes a knob that is rotatable to select one of a plurality of gear modes of a transmission of a vehicle and a cam member that engages a portion of the knob in a rotation direction of the knob. The cam member rotates integrally with the knob only when engaged with the portion of the knob. The shift device further includes a drive source that rotates the cam member and a controller. The controller controls the drive source to rotate the knob to an operation position corresponding to a predetermined gear mode if a particular condition is satisfied. The controller decreases a voltage applied to the drive source when the cam member is rotated in at least a pre-engagement section until the cam member engages the portion of the knob from the voltage applied when the cam member is rotated in other sections.

A system and method for estimating a wheel speed of a vehicle are provided. The system includes wheel speed sensor that detects a rotation speed of a wheel of a vehicle and a motor speed sensor that detects a speed of the driving motor. A controller receives a signal of the wheel speed sensor, a signal of the motor speed sensor, and information regarding a gear stage indicating current gear stage status of the transmission, and estimates a wheel speed including direction information of wheel rotation.

A system and method for estimating a wheel speed of a vehicle are provided. The system includes wheel speed sensor that detects a rotation speed of a wheel of a vehicle and a motor speed sensor that detects a speed of the driving motor. A controller receives a signal of the wheel speed sensor, a signal of the motor speed sensor, and information regarding a gear stage indicating current gear stage status of the transmission, and estimates a wheel speed including direction information of wheel rotation.
Linear Actuator with Safety Mechanism
The invention relates to a linear actuator (1) for an automobile transmission comprising an electric motor (6) for moving a transmission control member (5) between a plurality of shift positions, a spring (15) for driving the transmission control member (5) to an end position of the shift range in case of electric power failure, and a worm screw (7) to drive a displaceable worm wheel (10) with a pinion (11) meshing with a displaceable gear rack (12). The transmission control member (5) is displaceably coupled to the worm wheel (10). The gear rack (2) is blocked by an electrically activated lock against linear displacement with the spring (15) in a compressed state such that upon interruption of power supply to the lock the gear rack (12) is released and linearly displaced by the spring (15) thereby shifting the transmission control element (5) to its end position.

For example, the method receives the vehicle information from a second vehicle, wherein the vehicle information is received via a direct vehicle to vehicle communication, calculates an operating parameter of the second vehicle, determines an alert condition based on the operating parameter of the second vehicle, and provides a notification of the alert condition to a driver of the first vehicle.

The control apparatus for a vehicle includes a determination unit that determines whether or not a start condition is established, the start condition including when a torque converter is in a lockup state, and when the vehicle is in an accelerating state; and a display control unit that causes an acting number of rotations to be displayed on a tachometer instead of an actual number of rotations when it is determined by the determination unit that the start condition is established. The display control unit calculates the acting number of rotations based on a target value of an input number of rotations of a continuously variable transmission, and varies the acting number of rotations with a rate of change having an absolute value that is greater than an absolute value of a rate of change of the actual number of rotations upon an abrupt change in the target value.
