According to the invention, the powertrain comprises a controlled connection (132) between the two hollow shafts (42 and 62).

A lock-up device for a torque converter transmits a torque from a front cover to an input shaft of a transmission. The lock-up device includes a clutch portion, a piston and hydraulic oil leading-out portion. The clutch portion is disposed between the front cover and a turbine, and includes at least one clutch plate. The piston is disposed to be axially movable and presses the at least one clutch plate toward the front cover so as to turn the clutch portion into a torque transmitting state. The hydraulic oil leading-out portion is mounted to a piston-side lateral surface of the front cover, and leads a hydraulic oil residing between the front cover and the piston to an oil discharge channel provided in the input shaft of the transmission by utilizing rotation of the front cover.

A downsized power transmission unit having engagement devices. A first engagement device comprises a cylindrical first sleeve, and a second engagement device comprises a cylindrical second sleeve to which the first sleeve is inserted at least partially. First spline teeth and first dog teeth are formed on an inner circumferential surface of the first sleeve. Second spline teeth are formed on any one of an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface of the second sleeve, and second dog teeth are formed on the other one of the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface of the second sleeve.

One of the rotary input member and the rotary output member includes a first shaft and the first torque connection includes a first dog clutch including a dog hub having a hub set of teeth and a surrounding dog ring including a ring set of teeth. The hub and ring sets of teeth are radially projecting and mutually engageable. The dog hub is mounted on the first shaft so as to allow axial movement of the dog hub relative to the shaft.

At least one shifting mechanism is provided for engaging the transmission ratio stages (i1, i2). To carry out powershifts, the shifting mechanism includes at least one interlocking shifting element (5) and at least one frictional shifting element (6, 6A). Each of the transmission ratio stages (i1, i2) can be engaged by the interlocking shifting element (5) and at least one of the transmission ratio stages (i2) can be engaged both by the interlocking shifting element (5) and by the frictional shifting element (6). Methods for carrying out a powershift, between a frictional shifting element (6, 6A) and an interlocking shifting element (5) in the drive-train, are also disclosed.

A securing device for securing a stationary state of an electric vehicle includes a gearshift interlock device and a differential interlock device. The gearshift interlock device has a gearshift interlock drive with a gearshift interlock shaft for driving a gearshift interlock between a gearshift interlock position and a gearshift release position. The differential interlock device has a differential interlock drive with a differential interlock shaft for driving a differential interlock between a differential interlock position and a differential release position. The gearshift interlock shaft and the differential interlock shaft are connected to one another in a drive-transmitting fashion.
