A sealing arrangement at an interface between a combustor and a turbine of a gas turbine. The turbine can include deflecting vanes at its inlet, which deflecting vanes are each mounted within the turbine so as to define an inner or outer diameter platform and are in sealing engagement via an inner or outer diameter vane tooth with a seal arranged at the corresponding inner or outer diameter part of the outlet of the combustor. The seal is movable and is pressed on the inner or outer diameter vane tooth by a differential pressure such that the pressure of the mainstream hot gas flow is a lower pressure.

A seal assembly and methods of use, wherein the seal assembly is formed of an elastomeric enclosure within which a primary cavity is defined. A second cavity in the form of a crushable container is deployed within the primary chamber. An elastomeric compound is contained in one cavity and an elastomeric hardener contained in the other cavity. Upon application of an external force to the elastomeric enclosure, the enclosure is elastically deformed from a first shape to a second shape, wherein the second shape positions the elastomeric enclosure into a sealing configuration between adjacent annular surfaces. The external force also crushes the container, to cause mixing of the elastomeric compound and elastomeric hardener. Once the reaction is complete, the hardened compound retains the deformed shape of the elastomeric enclosure to maintain a seal between the annular surfaces.

The preferred embodiment is an inflatable bladder (202) with an air outlet (412) and an air inlet (406) to accept compressed air. The bladder (202) expands to seal the gap between the concentric structures when the telescoping structures are immobilized and deflate to allow movement of the telescoping structures. The embodiment may be comprised of a plurality of expandable seals geometrically shaped to form a whole seal.

The bladder (202) expands to seal the gap between the concentric structures when the telescoping structures are immobilized and deflate to allow movement of the telescoping structures. The invention is designed to prevent personnel from being subjected to sand and sand dust during the sand box being filled with sand from the sand tower. The system includes a universal sealing nozzle which may be used with the locomotive sanding system or other devices. The universal sealing nozzle includes an expansion seal extending therearound which may be moved from a retracted position to an expanded position. When the nozzle is inserted into the fill pipe of the sand box, the expansion seal is expanded to sealably engage the inside surface of the fill pipe.
