An isolator includes a first fluid-carrying member and a second fluid-carrying member spaced apart from the first fluid-carrying member; and a resistive, semi-conductive or non-conductive component located between the first and the second fluid-carrying member. The component is adapted to convey fluid flowing from the first fluid-carrying member to the second fluid-carrying member. The isolator further comprises a reinforcing composite encircling the first fluid-carrying member, the second fluid-carrying member and the component. The reinforcing composite comprises: first fibres extending at an angle of between 30 degrees and +30 degrees to a longitudinal axis (A-A) of the resistive, semi-conductive or non-conductive component; second fibres interwoven with the first fibres and extending around the first fluid-carrying member, the second fluid-carrying member and the component at an angle of between +60 degrees and +90 degrees and/or between 60 degrees and 90 degrees to the longitudinal axis (A-A); and a resin.

The invention relates to a refining assembly for refining water-suspended pulp fibers between two coaxial refining surfaces which form a refining gap, rotate in relation to each other and are formed by refining bars and grooves extending therebetween. At least one directional component of the refining bars extends radially in relation to the axis of rotation. In order make the refining process more efficient, the refining bars have annular elevations and depressions that run concentrically to the axis of rotation of the refining surfaces and an annular elevation of one refining surface protruding into an annular depression in an opposite refining surface.

COMPOSITE TO METAL END FITTING JOINT

A composite torque pipe to metal fitting joint including concentric inner and outer shells formed with respective smooth conical surfaces projecting distally and respectively tapered radially inwardly and radially outwardly to form an annulus expanding in thickness for receipt of a tapered connector ring complementally shaped at one end of a composite pipe and bonded along the interface. The present invention includes selecting the sleeves with the corresponding shells and, forming the torque pipe with the tapered ring and bonding the tapered ring in the annulus.

A system of jointing reinforced thermosetting resin (RTR) pipe, including: a first RTR pipe with a spigot portion, the spigot portion having a first joining surface; a second RTR pipe with a socket portion shaped to receive the spigot portion, the socket portion having a second joining surface; and a cavity between the first joining surface and the second joining surface, the cavity formed when the spigot portion is push-fit into the socket portion; and an injectable/curable material located in the cavity. Additionally, a method of jointing RTR pipe, including the steps of: push-fitting a spigot portion of a first pipe into a socket portion of a second pipe, forming a cavity between the spigot portion and the socket portion; injecting a joining compound into the cavity; and curing the joining compound.

A ball and socket coupling that avoids threaded tightening-components instead has telescoped components that are bonded together. Such a coupling has a hollow seat-formed link, a counterpart hollow ball-formed link, and a socket-forming collar. Both the links have fitting extensions. The ball-formed link has a spherical bulb at one end as the seat-formed link has a conforming, spherically-widening seat surface at one end. The socket-forming collar has a centrally apertured web with a conforming spherically-narrowing socket surface at one end of an axially elongated sleeve. The coupling is adapted to be assembled and bonded into solid rigidity by workers in the field with the spherical bulb bonded to and clamped between the seat-formed link's spherically-widening seat surface and the collar's spherically-narrowing socket surface. In addition, the collar's elongated sleeve is bonded internally to the seat-an outer sidewall of the seat-formed link's seat-formed end.

A double wall round or oval duct system assembly having an outer duct connector, an inner duct connector and a closure ring is provided. The inner duct connector of the duct assembly has an adhesive applied on the transverse flange face of its transverse flange thus allowing a sealing connection between the inner and outer duct connectors upon compression with the closure ring. The double wall round or oval duct system assembly will improve the efficiency and will reduce or eliminate air leakage upon connection of two round or oval duct segments. A method of installing the assembly system is also provided.
