Composite tube to metal joint apparatus

A metal to composite tube joint including selecting an elongated interior fitting constructed with an exterior barrel, reduced in exterior diameter to form a distally facing annular shoulder and then projecting still further distally to form an interior sleeve having a radially outwardly facing bonding surface. A metal outer sleeve formed proximally with a collar constructed for receipt over the barrel and increased in interior diameter and projecting distally to form an exterior sleeve having a radially inwardly facing bonding surface cooperating with the first bonding surface to form an annulus receiving an extremity of a composite tube and a bond bonding the extremity of the tube to the bonding surfaces.

Subsea Pipeline Connector Method
20190242497 · 2019-08-08 ·

The method of providing a connector suited for quickly connecting and testing joints of pipe for a subsea pipeline and similar applications by concurrently locking, preloading, sealing and testing of the connection to eliminate the usual sequential time requirements for each of these operations. Additionally, time for coating and X-Ray inspection of the welded connection in critical path time are eliminated as the welding and coating operations are able to be done on shore in non-critical path time.

Pipe section joining member, pipe joint and elongated pipe

An elongated pipe may include a fiber reinforced polymer composite joining member for joining sections of pipe together. A pipe joint and elongated pipe may include at least two pipe sections having ends that are joined together with the joining member. The pipe joint and elongated pipe are formed by joining abutting ends of adjacent pipe sections with the joining member without the need for the adjacent pipe sections to have other connection means, such as standard bell and spigot end connections. A method may include joining pipe sections with the joining member to make an elongated pipe.

POLYUREA-POLY(METH)ACRYLATE INTERPENETRATING POLYMER NETWORK ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
20190211229 · 2019-07-11 ·

Provided herein are adhesive compositions comprising a polyurea-poly(meth)acrylate interpenetrating polymer network. Further provided are two-part curable adhesive compositions comprising a Part A initiator composition and a Part B activator composition. The Part A initiator composition comprises an organoborane-amine complex and the Part B activator composition comprises an isocyanate that is reactive with the amine portion of the organoborane-amine complex to liberate organoborane from the organoborane-amine complex. Further provided are methods of using an adhesive composition comprising a polyurea-poly(meth)acrylate interpenetrating polymer network, such as, for example, in joining and/or bonding together polyolefin materials (e.g., polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) pipes).

NOVEL MATERIALS AND METHOD FOR JOINING FIBER REINFORCED PIPELINE
20190186657 · 2019-06-20 ·

A method of joining fiberglass-reinforced composite pipes includes joining an inner tube of each pipe by fusion to form a fused bond, joining fiber reinforced polymer tubes of each pipe by depositing a silica glass particle epoxy directly on the fused bond and on bonded edges of the fiber reinforced polymer tubes as a composition to cover tube edges and the fused inner tube bond, and curing the composition.

NONMETALLIC JOINTS AND METHODS FOR FORMATION AND INSPECTION THEREOF
20190186658 · 2019-06-20 ·

Disclosed are joints and methods for forming joints of nonmetallic components such as piping components made from a nonmetallic composite material. The components are joined by an adhesive containing an x-ray absorbing additive for providing a contrasting signal in x-ray inspection of the joint. The joints can be nondestructively tested by positioning the joints relative to an x-ray source and an x-ray detector. The joints and the adhesive therein are then exposed to x-ray radiation from the source of x-ray radiation. The x-ray radiation, having passed from the x-ray source to the x-ray detector, is detected over an area and an x-ray image of the x-ray radiation detected is created. The x-ray image is then read to identify defects in the joint.

CONDUIT COUPLING DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
20240218947 · 2024-07-04 ·

A conduit coupling device is provided for enabling a conduit coupling system and method. The conduit coupling device has two portions, a coupler and a cap, that adhere, respectively, to two separate conduits being coupled together. The coupler has a first tubular end and a second end that provides an arcuate cutout. The coupler provides a glue channel along the arcuate cutout. The inner surfaces of two ends engage outer surfaces of the two separate conduits, respectively. The cap is dimensioned and adapted to adhere to a portion of the outer surface of the second arcuate cutout conduit so as to provide a glue ridge there along. The glue ridge is dimensioned to be slidably received in the glue channel, thereby forming a locked engagement between the first and second conduits.
