HVAC Duct System, Method and Machine
20180356117 · 2018-12-13 ·

A method for connecting two duct sections having an outer layer of thermoplastic material and an inner layer of foam, and duct produced by the method. The method entails the use of thermoplastic material to form at least one flange in the finished duct. The thermoplastic material may be a portion of the outer thermoplastic layer of the duct section or it may be made, in-situ, from a separate strip or strips of thermoplastic material. In the latter case, a strip of thermoplastic material may be fashioned into a sleeve in which the ends of the duct sections reside or a separate strip may be securely fastened to each of the ends of each of the duct sections. In the latter case, a portion of the strip extends radially outwardly and a belly band or the like is positioned over the radially outwardly extending portion of the strip and tightened to bring them together and seal the interface between the ends of the duct sections.

Connecting systems for adjacent ends of insulation tubing

A connector or adhesive assembly for joining adjacent ends of insulation tubing, comprising a layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material, said layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material capable of bonding to insulation tubing, whereby when said layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material is positioned between a first section of insulation tubing and a second section of insulation tubing, said layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material bonds to both the first section of insulation tubing and the second section of insulation tubing; and a disposable release liner member adapted to hold said layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material prior to positioning said layer of pressure-sensitive transfer adhesive material between the first section of insulation tubing and the second section of insulation tubing. Generally, the seam created when the first section of insulation tubing and the second section of insulation tubing are joined is covered with tape.

Device for connecting two fluid-conducting lines
10113675 · 2018-10-30 · ·

The invention relates to a device (1) for connecting two fluid-channeling lines (10, 20), wherein the device has a through-bore (2) for advancing the fluid and two opposite line mounts (11, 21), which terminate at a predetermined distance (4) from one another within the device. Each of these line mounts (11, 21) is designed such that it is provided with a first part (12, 22), through which the through-bore (2) leads, and a second part (13, 23), which enclosed the first part (12, 22), an annular space (14, 24) therefore being formed between the first part (12, 22) and the second part (13, 23). Each of the two fluid-channeling lines, (10, 20) is arranged in one of the line mounts (11, 21) such that it has an inner cross section (16, 26) arranged, and fixed, with sealing action against the first part (12, 22) of the device and has an outer cross section (17, 27) arranged, and fixed, in the annular space (14, 24).

Mechanical restraint member

A mechanical restraint member for retaining the relative position of a first conduit in a piping system relative to a second conduit in the piping system. The mechanical restraint member has a flexible substrate having a first outer side, a second inner side and first and second axially spaced apart ends, and a first bonding agent provided on at least a portion of the second inner side.

ROLLED CONNECTING SYSTEMS FOR ADJACENT ENDS OF INSULATION TUBING
20180274701 · 2018-09-27 · ·

A rolled connection system for adjacent ends of insulated tubing sections having a substrate roll of continuous release liner. Pressure sensitive transfer adhesive material members configured to conform with the ends of insulated tubing sections to be joined are spaced at selected distances from each other along the length of the continuous release liner. A second release liner covers each pressure sensitive adhesive material member and includes a tab to facilitate removal of the second release liner from the adhesive material members to facilitate joining juxtaposed face portion of the ends of the insulated tubing to be connected.

SECONDARY RETENTION FOR ADHESIVE BONDED JOINTS

A pressure vessel includes a first component, a second component, and a bonded lap joint between the first and second components. The bonded lap joint includes a portion of the first component which extends about a circumference of the pressure vessel, a portion of the second component which extends about the circumference of the pressure vessel and partially overlaps the portion of the first component, an adhesive bond connecting the portion of the first component to the portion of the second component and thereby joining the first and second components, and mechanically interlocking structures connecting the portion of the first component to the portion of the second component. The adhesive bond forms a primary retention mechanism. The mechanically interlocking structures are situated at least partially within each of the portion of the first component and the portion of the second component, and form a secondary retention mechanism.
