ATOMIZING NOZZLE DEVICE, ATOMIZED FLUID AND USE OF THE SAME
The invention relates to a new atomizing device with improved droplet formation. Smaller droplets are formed with increased micronized volume throughput, wherein high volumes of air are fed to a liquid sprayed from a liquid nozzle. High volume ratios result in mean free path between droplets being conveyed so as to minimize collisions and to prevent aggregation of the droplet.
FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
Various embodiments relate to fire suppression systems. A fire suppression system may include at least one fire suppression module. The fire suppression module may include a fire suppression system component, an at-pressure connector assembly coupled to the fire suppression system component. The fire suppression system may further include a first conduit having a first end coupled to the fire suppression system component via the at-pressure connector assembly. Further, the fire suppression system may include a second at-pressure connector coupled to a second end of the first conduit.
USER CONFIGURABLE LONG-RANGE FIRE-FIGHTING APPARATUS
There is described a fire-fighting apparatus comprising a housing comprising an upstream air inlet and a downstream fire-extinguishing stream outlet and a hollow body therebetween, wherein the housing houses an air stream traveling at high velocity; and a spray assembly concentrically mounted to the housing. The spray assembly comprises a fluid inlet connected to a source of fluid outside the housing; and a plurality of injecting assemblies fluidly connected to the fluid inlet and designed for breaking down an inflow of the fluid into droplets and projecting the droplets of the fluid within the air stream in a multiphase fire-extinguishing stream. The injecting assemblies each comprises a fluid outlet; a base plate through which extends the fluid outlet; a holding structure mounted to the base plate and extending downstream therefrom, and a unibody jet-fragmenting device mounted to the holding structure facing the stream of fluid exiting the fluid outlet.
Atomizing nozzle device, atomizing process and use
The invention relates to a new atomizing device with improved droplet formation. Smaller droplets are formed with increased micronized volume throughput, wherein high volumes of air are fed to a liquid sprayed from a liquid nozzle (2). High volume ratios result in mean free path between droplets being conveyed so as to minimize collisions and to prevent aggregation of the droplet.
WET-DRY FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENT
Fire extinguishing systems and methods, such as for combating compartment fires, can include or use wet and dry agents such as water droplets and aerosol-based particulate extinguisher agents. In an example, an extinguishing system includes a centralized extinguishing controller that can selectively provide the wet and dry agents to a compartment or environment. In other examples, dedicated dispenser systems separately, but optionally concurrently, provide water and aerosol-based agents to combat a compartment fire.
WATER MIST NOZZLE FOR A FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
A water mist nozzle (2) for a fire suppression system comprises a nozzle head (4) including a discharge nozzle (6) for supplying a fluid jet (12); a support structure (8); and a stationary deflector element (10). The stationary deflector element (10) is fastened to the support structure (8) and comprises a body with a substantially round outer periphery having a base portion (28) and a substantially conical upper portion (22) with a central peak (24). The substantially conical upper portion (22) provides a plurality of flowpaths (26), the flowpaths (26) extending substantially radially from a radial position close to the central peak (24) in a direction towards the outer periphery, the flowpaths (26) having at least one portion (26a, 26b, 26c) of decreasing slope, in which the slope of the bottom of the flowpaths (26) decreases along the flow direction towards the outer periphery. The stationary deflector element (10) is fastened to the support structure (8) such that the central peak (24) of the substantially conical upper portion (22) of the stationary deflector element (10) faces the discharge nozzle (6) and that the fluid jet (12) exiting the discharge nozzle (6) impinges onto the central peak (24) and is distributed to the environment, substantially in a lateral direction, through the plurality of flowpaths (26).
Wet fire protection systems and methods for storage
Fire protection systems and methods of fire protection systems for protection of a stored commodity. The systems and methods included a plurality of fluid distribution devices disposed above the stored commodity and configured for selective identification and controlled actuation in response to a fire. The systems have a hydraulic demand defined by at least one of: i) a hydraulic design area having a minimum operational area of less than 768 square feet; or ii) less than twelve hydraulic design devices.
Air Mover Device And Method For Firefighting
The invention includes an air mover device used for fire mitigation and protection. The core component is an air mover unit whose discharge airstream can be positioned using air rudders and/or a directional control assembly to provide air flows in optimum directions and capacity to counter unwanted fire progression or to promote fires in cases of back-burns. Additional support components include a power supply, its fuel source, a speed control mechanism for the air mover, an air mover inlet protective screen, a sparger unit to impart suppressant or retardant into the airstream, balancing feet, a removable nozzle, and instrumentation and controls to ensure function and safety of equipment and personnel. This device can be on a static or mobile platform, towed or self-propelled and can be locally or remotely controlled.
