LONG-TERM FIRE RETARDANT WITH CORROSION INHIBITORS AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING SAME
A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a phosphate salt. The phosphate salt may include diammonium phosphate, diammonium orthophosphate, monoammonium phosphate, monoammonium orthophosphate, monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, disodium phosphate hydrate, sodium ammonium phosphate, sodium ammonium phosphate hydrate, sodium tripolyphosphate, trisodium phosphate, or dipotassium phosphate, and combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include an ammonium source. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.
APPARATUS FOR DILUTING AND APPLYING FIREFIGHTING CHEMICAL
This relates to apparatus that can form dilute aqueous firefighting compositions from an aqueous concentrate.
ENVIRONMENTALLY-CLEAN WATER-BASED FIRE INHIBITING BIOCHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS OF AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING THE SAME TO PROTECT PROPERTY AGAINST WILDFIRE
Environmentally-clean aqueous-based fire inhibitor biochemical compositions in liquid phase that can be atomized and sprayed, over a broad ambient working temperature range, as a fine mist over ground surfaces, native ground fuel, living plants, trees and shrubs and when dried forming a durable fire protective coatings having improved surface coverage, and being an effective proactive wildfire inhibitor. These environmentally-clean aqueous-based fire inhibitor biochemical compositions can also be applied to wood products, and wood-framed and mass-timber buildings, decks and anything of a combustible nature, to provide proactive wildfire protection without compromising wood-fiber strength or producing volatile organic components (VOCs).
FIREFIGHTING COMPOSITIONS
The disclosure relates to firefighting measures, and in particular, to firefighting compositions for preventing, retarding and extinguishing fire in a combustion zone that comprises a combination of at least one cooling component, at least one fire-isolation component comprising, at least one oxidizer diluting component, and at least one flame retarding component.
METHOD FOR PREVENTING DAMAGE CAUSED BY A FIRE
A method for preventing damage caused by a fire includes extinguishing the fire by applying a fireproof composition to the fire. The fireproof composition is constituted as an aqueous composition comprising at least one sugar and magnesium chloride (MgCl2). The fire can be a forest, domestic, or industrial fire. The composition can also be applied to protect a product against fire.
LONG-TERM FIRE RETARDANT WITH MAGNESIUM SULFATE AND CORROSION INHIBITORS AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING SAME
A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a halide salt, a non-halide salt, a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide, a sulfate salt, or combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include at least one anhydrous salt and at least one hydrate salt. The sulfate salt may be magnesium sulfate. The magnesium sulfate hydrate has a formula MgSO.sub.4(H.sub.2O).sub.x, where x is about 1 to about 11. For example, x may be equal to at least one of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 or 11. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.
