GAS CYLINDER LINING
An improved gas cylinder configured to prevent degradation of a contained pressurized reactive gas includes a metallic gas cylinder configured to store a pressurized reactive gas within the cylinder. The improved gas cylinder further includes a cylinder lining including parylene. In one embodiment, the parylene lined cylinder can be heat treated. The improved gas cylinder prevents cracking of the cylinder lining, thereby preventing the contained reactive gas from coming into contact with the metallic gas cylinder.
COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS FUELING SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED FILL RECEPTACLE
A compressed natural gas fueling system includes a frame arrangement with at least one tank disposed therein and an inlet that can receive a compressed natural gas fueling nozzle to fill the at least one tank. The fueling system can be attached with and supported by frame rails behind a cabin of a vehicle such that the inlet is positioned above the frame rails.
HIGH-PRESSURE VESSEL UNIT
A high-pressure vessel unit includes: plural cylindrical vessels arrayed inside a case, with end portions of the vessels on one side in the axial direction thereof being equipped with openings; a coupling member connected to the openings of the vessels to couple the plural vessels and includes a flow passage that communicates the insides of the vessels; a lead-out pipe that is leads out to the outside of the case from the coupling member through a through hole formed in the case; securing members that secure the coupling member to the case; and a retention mechanism that retains portions of the vessels on the axial direction other side of the end portions on the one side in the axial direction such that those portions of the vessels on the axial direction other side are movable in the axial direction relative to the case.
LIQUEFIED FUEL GAS SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method of fueling a transporter with liquefied fuel gas includes providing a transporter having a fuel gas storage tank for holding a liquefied fuel gas, a sub-cooler fluidly connected to the fuel gas storage tank, and a consumer. Liquefied fuel gas from the fuel gas storage tank is pumped into the subcooler to create subcooled liquefied fuel gas. The subcooled liquefied fuel gas may then be introduced into the fuel gas storage tank, for example by spraying into a vapor space of the fuel gas storage tank. Liquefied fuel gas is pumped from the fuel gas storage tank to provide pressurized liquefied fuel gas, the pressurized liquefied fuel gas is vaporized and the vaporized fuel gas is provided to the consumer for propelling the means of transport using the vaporized fuel gas as a fuel.
Gas filling method
Provided is a gas filling method capable of accurately determining the initial pressure in a tank while minimizing increase in temperature and pressure regardless of the capacity of the tank. The gas filling method for connecting a supply source to a tank via a piping, and filling the tank with the gas, the method includes: an initial-filling initiation step of opening a flow control valve provided in the piping to start initial filling; a pressure-variation acquisition step of obtaining a pressure variation per unit time at a predetermined detection point downstream of the flow control valve in the piping; an initial-pressure detection step of obtaining a pressure at the detection point at a time specified using the pressure variation, and considering that pressure as the initial pressure in the tank; and a main-filling initiation step of starting main filling using the initial pressure.
COMPOSITE PRESSURE VESSEL HAVING INTERNAL LOAD SUPPORT
A device, system and method to support the ends of composite pressurized storage vessel, including supporting two ends of a cylindrical composite pressurized storage vessel with an axial rod/tube fixed axially inside the storage vessel fixed at each end; and providing a fluid pathway into the vessel from at least one of the two ends which is not obstructed by the axial rod/tubing.
Remote activation system for a breathing apparatus filling station
A Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) is routinely used in environments when there is no breathable air and in emergency situations. However, CABA/SCBA tanks have limited capacity to hold compressed air, and BA filling stations are required in environments in which it may be necessary to refill the CABA/SCBA tanks during an emergency situation. Disclosed is a BA filling station system with a back-up air supply and remote activation. Two or more filling stations are interconnected by one or more air supply lines to provide a flow of compressed air between the filling stations, and one or more remote activation lines to control the flow. Advantageously, the system provides redundancy between the remotely located BA filling stations and substantially improves safety by making available a back-up source of an air supply from another interconnected filling station.
PNEUMATIC INFLATION SYSTEM
A valve includes a valve body, an inlet in the valve body in fluid communication with the gas and an outlet in the valve body, and a rupture disc in fluid communication with and between the inlet and the outlet that prevents fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet. The valve also includes a piston that is urged by a gas from the gas source to rupture the rupture disc to allow fluid communication between the gas source and the outlet.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A HEATED GAS CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
Systems and methods for a heated gas cylinder assembly are disclosed. The heated gas cylinder assembly may comprise a cylinder shell and a heat exchanger disposed within the cylinder shell. The heat exchanger and the cylinder shell may define an interior chamber configured to hold a gas mixture. The heat exchanger may comprise an inner bore configured to receive a pyrotechnic composition. In response to igniting the pyrotechnic composition, the heat exchanger may provide thermal conduction to the gas mixture. The gas mixture may be simultaneously heated and released, or the gas mixture may be preheated before release.
