Appliance end fitting
11022227 · 2021-06-01 ·

An end fitting for use in connecting a gas source in fluid communication to an appliance, includes a nut mounted by a fusible and meltable heat activatable material on a socket having a chamber for receiving a plug. The plug connects to the gas source and the socket connects to the appliance. An O-ring of meltable heat activatable material separates the plug and socket. The socket includes a spring that biases a valve member against the plug and between closed and open conditions, respectively, to block or permit fluid flow from a source and through the chamber. In case of excess heat buildup in the socket body, the heat activatable materials melt but unless the gas source is turned off always allow a predetermined amount of gas to flow.

CARBONATION MACHINE AND A GAS CANISTER FOR A CARBONATION MACHINE

A carbonation machine may include a carbonation head, a holder that is configured to hold a gas canister, the holder comprising a connector with a socket configured to enable linear insertion of a valve of the canister into the socket, the socket including a seal with at least one lateral opening to enable fluidic flow between one or more laterally oriented ports of the valve and a conduit of the holder while preventing leakage of gas from the fluidic flow, and a holding mechanism configured to hold a lateral projection from the canister after insertion of the valve into the socket such that the valve remains in the socket, and an activation mechanism configured to operate the valve to release the gas from the canister when inserted into the socket so as to enable the gas to flow via the conduit to the carbonation head

Smart gas cylinder cap

The design and structure of a smart gas cylinder valve cap coupled with a smart MEMS mass flow meter, an embedded iBeacon or RFID reader and a remote data transmission module, which is capable of formulating an Internet of Things (IoT) system, is demonstrated in the disclosure. The smart gas cylinder cap(s) can be directly used to replace the mechanical valve handwheel or directly attached to the top of the existing mechanical handwheel as a smart data relay, and the cap(s) can either be applied to a single or plural numbers of gas cylinders while the smart gas flow meter shall communicate with the smart gas cap as well as to relay gas consumption data to a designated data center or a cloud which can further interface with the users and suppliers of the gas cylinders. The system is beneficial for many of the existing gas cylinder applications such as construction gas process, medical gas racks, gas cylinders for food and beverage, and gas racks for electronics fabrication, where the gas cylinder status, gas consumption as well as cylinder logistics are critical for the applications.

LOW-COST CNG HOME FUEL STATION
20200284395 · 2020-09-10 ·

A home-based, low-cost, self-contained, fast-fill natural gas refueling station for providing compress natural gas (CNG) fuel for motor vehicles. The station compresses utility supplied natural gas and stores the CNG in a CNG storage facility located inside the station. In preferred embodiments the refueling station is located adjacent to a driveway at a home. The compressor preferably is a multi-stage gas compressor having at least three stages of compression. Applicant estimates that savings based today prices for CNG as compared to gasoline, a typical family with only one car could pay for the station in three years. If the family has several cars the station could pay for itself much earlier.

Systems and methods for converting cryogenic liquid natural gas to high pressure natural gas and to low pressure natural gas and retain all converted product and to further dispense only by voluntary actions of the user

A system to convert and dispense pressurized gas(es) of cryogenic liquids of gas(es), and systems and methods to efficiently convert liquid natural gas (LNG) to compressed natural gas (CNG) and low pressure natural gas (NG) and other cryogenic liquids of gas. The system requires one dedicated pressure vessel of horizontal and vertical elements at the dispensing location to convert, retain, store, and dispense multiple pressures of gas from a cryogenic liquid supply such as a non-dedicated high pressure cryogenic personal supply tank. The system efficiently modifies and controls parameters of volume, pressure, and temperature in conversion scale to retain all converted product under human control to dispense without process required waste for use in commercial, industrial, and in particular single family residential applications and service can be accomplished by pickup truck and trailer, where semi trucks, big rig trucks and process pollution are not welcome.

Method and System for Optimizing the Filling, Storage and Dispensing of Carbon Dioxide From Multiple Containers Without Overpressurization
20200063916 · 2020-02-27 ·

This invention relates to a novel method and system for dispensing CO2 vapor without over pressurization from a system having multiple containers. The system includes one or more liquid containers and one or more vapor containers. The system is designed to operate in a specific manner whereby a restricted amount of CO2 liquid is permitted into the vapor container through a restrictive pathway that is created and maintained by a shuttle valve during the filling operation so that equalization of container pressures is achieved, thereby allowing shuttle valve to reseat when filling has stopped. During use, a pressure differential device is designed to specifically isolate the vapor container from the liquid container so as to preferentially deplete liquid CO2 from the vapor container and avoid over pressurization of the system until the vapor container becomes liquid dry. The system can be operated so that at least 50% of the CO2 vapor product is dispensed from the vapor container.
