20230143602 · 2023-05-11 ·

An illumination source, comprising: (a) at least one coherent light emitting device (CLED) configured for emitting coherent light having an optical path; (b) at least one optical element in said optical path for converting at least a portion of said coherent light to incoherent light, said optical element being configured to emit said incoherent light in a direction; and (c) a light control mechanism (LCM) for altering said direction of said incoherent light.

Portable light and keyed rechargeable USB battery

A portable light may comprise: a light body having an internal cavity configured to receive a rechargeable power source, having a keying feature, and having an opening through an exterior wall in a predetermined location relative to the keying feature; and a light source. A rechargeable power source has a charging connector and a keying feature in predetermined locations that when the keying feature thereof engages the keying feature of the internal cavity, the charging connector thereof is aligned with the opening through the exterior wall of the light body. Thus an external source of charging power can be connected through the opening in the exterior wall directly to the charging connector of the rechargeable power source for recharging the rechargeable power source while it is in the portable light.

An externally-hung lamp assembly includes a circuit board, a battery pack, an upper cover, a lampshade, a rubber ring, a lower cover, and a hook. The circuit board has a first hole and a plurality of light-emitting components. The battery pack is electrically connected to the circuit board and is configured to provide power needed for turning on the light-emitting components. The upper cover is disposed on the circuit board. The lampshade is disposed in a second hole of the upper cover. The rubber ring is disposed beneath the circuit board. The lower cover is combined with the upper cover, wherein the lower cover has a back surface. The hook is pivotally disposed on the back surface of the lower cover. By means of the foregoing configurations, the externally-hung lamp assembly can meet configuration requirements of multiple different application scenarios.

Adaptive Flashlight Control Module

A portable lighting device control module configured to intuitively adjust lighting operations of a portable lighting device by interpreting real-time user gestures and external conditions of the portable lighting device to modify lighting operations in response thereto. The control module installed within a portable lighting device may be configured to permit automatic dimming of front-end LEDs, enable a low power standby mode in absence of motion being detected, automatic mode adjustments in response to low battery determination, adjustment to lantern mode when a bump gesture is detected, continuous alternation between modes within lantern mode by detecting subsequent bump gestures, exiting lantern mode by detecting orientation, locking the lighting operation to a specific mode by determining orienting as either upwards or downwards, switching between modes by performing twist and return gestures, switching between modes by performing whip gestures, instantaneously dimming the light intensity by twisting the portable lighting device.

A flashlight is protected from damage due to shock such as occurs when a flashlight is dropped, crushed or otherwise physically abused. A plastic molding can be attached to either the front or rear portion of a flashlight or to both portions to resiliently absorb shock forces. A series of thin fins projects axially outwardly from the molding to resiliently deform upon impact so as to absorb shock and distribute the shock around the ends of the flashlight and to reduce stress concentrations around the ends of the flashlight. A series of axially-extending and radially-extending ribs further protects the flashlight from axially and radially-directed shock forces and further absorb shock forces. An optional safety crush or clearance zone can be provided between each shock absorber and the flashlight.
