Multi-mode portable illumination device

A multi-mode portable illumination device includes a switch structure featuring a substantially planar member and a mechanical switch which requires a relatively small amount of force and a short stroke distance to actuate. The mechanical switch is attached to a member which contains circuit(s) adding additional functionality to the multi-mode portable illumination device. The member has conductive springs attached to either end that are used to complete the electrical circuit with the battery and the lamp, while their compressive force is absorbed by a housing protecting the switch structure. A conductive strip is used to improve the conductivity of the circuit in a metal multi-mode portable illumination device which has been provided with an electrically resistive protective coating.

The invention relates to a torch having a housing in which at least one LED secured to a carrier element, and a lens system, are arranged and can be displaced relative to one another in order to focus the cone of light that is emitted. According to the invention, a seal consisting of a membrane (14) closes the space (23) between the LED (11) and the lens system (13) in a watertight and dust-proof manner.

FLASHLIGHT WITH BOTTLE OPENER

A flashlight, or portable light source, that has a light source at one end and a bottle opener at the second end. The bottle opener may be secured to the body of the flashlight in a permanent or removable manner. The bottle opener may be secured to the body of the flashlight by a cap on the end opposite the light source.

A portable lighting device, such as a flashlight, with a mechanical power switch and multiple operating modes is provided. The mechanical power switch is disposed in series with the controller for the lighting device and acts as the user interface to the controller to change modes of operation. Because the mechanical power switch is in series with the controller, the portable lighting device does not consume battery power when the mechanical switch is open. A state machine coupled to the controller is polled by the controller each time it is powered up to determine the operational mode of the lighting device.

Torch with a rotary switch

A torch (flashlight) and a method for producing a torch housing and a torch head provides a torch which is of simple design and is robust. The torch has a rotary switch, in which torch clear classification of the selected function is possible, so that regular function monitoring can be dispensed with. The torch housing and the torch head can be connected in a captive manner and so as to be rotated in relation to one another to form a rotary switch having different switching states. Markings are arranged on the housing and on the lamp head. The markings allowing clear classification of the switching states. After the torch is first assembled and after the torch is first switched on, to clearly define the switching states by in each case a torch-head-side and a housing-side marking for subsequent switch-on processes.

Pistol mounted light and operation thereof

A flashlight for use with a pistol, the pistol having a trigger guard and a mounting rail. The flashlight includes an elongated housing having a clamping mechanism for mounting to the mounting rail, a light source at one end thereof, and paddle switches at an opposing end.

LIGHTING APPARATUS HAVING ULTRA-LOW MODE

A lighting apparatus includes a light source operable to emit different levels of brightness, and a user interface configured to be selectively actuated by a user to turn the light source off and on. When the light source is off and the user interface is actuated for a first amount of time, the light source turns on in a first mode in which the light source emits a first level of brightness. When the light source is off and the user interface is actuated for a second amount of time that is different from the first amount of time, the light source turns on in an ultra-low mode in which the light source emits a second level of brightness.

ELECTRICAL DEVICE HAVING A MAINTAINED ON OFF SWITCH

An electrical device, such as a flashlight includes an on-off switch that is movable between a maintained actuated position and a maintained unactuated position. The device comprises a body containing an electrical assembly that includes a power source, a switch, and an actuated member, such as a light. The switch includes a first conductor attachable to a first terminal of the power source and the switch member coupled to a second terminal of the power source. The switch member includes a switch portion that has a generally sheet-like portion that is disposed adjacent to the second terminal of the power source. The sheet-like portion includes a deformable central portion surrounded by a retained perimeter. The deformable portion is movable between a maintainable actuated position wherein it contacts the second terminal of the power source, and a maintained unactuated position wherein it is spatially separated from, and not in contact with, the second terminal of power source.

A tactical flashlight with a raised tactical switch and a support hand tactical grip integrally formed with the flashlight barrel to provide multiple gripping positions for use in a flashlight shooting technique where the thenar of a user can be used to turn the flashlight on/off.

Weapon mounted light and operation thereof

A flashlight assembly includes a body having a head portion at one end and an opposing tapered tail portion and a clamping assembly on a bottom side of the body. The tail portion of the body tapers rearwardly towards a tail end thereof and downwardly from an upper side towards the bottom side, such that the tail end of the tail portion merges with the bottom side of the body and forms an inclined contoured surface extending from the bottom side to the top side. A contoured switch is mounted within the inclined angled surface of the tapered tail portion, and includes a safety bail pivotably movable to selectively mechanically impede operation of the switch.
