Deicing system for an automotive lamp
A lamp or lens assembly for a motor vehicle that includes electrically conductive traces for defogging or deicing the lens. Aspects include a light transmissive lens coupled to a lamp housing. The light transmissive lens may define a curved cross-section with a curvature extending across the length and/or the width of the lens. The lens may include one or more electrically conductive traces positioned on a surface of the lens, the electrically conductive traces optionally extending across and curving with the curvature of the light transmissive lens. One or more coatings may optionally cover the conductive traces and a portion of the lens surface leaving portions uncovered. The electrically conductive traces may extend outwardly away from the surface of the lens with height that is greater than their width.
Heater and Heated Vehicle Illumination Assembly
A heated light enclosure having an adaptable heating system is provided with a controlled heating system to deliver enough heat to a lens on a lamp assembly to remove snow, frost, and/or condensation without overheating the lens. By heating the lens using a combination of one or more of PTC heaters, heat sinks and heat pipes, accumulation of snow, ice, or vapor is mitigated or eliminated from a surface of the lens, thereby enabling light to transmit through the lens. Applications include lamps and bulbs on conveyance devices, including vehicles, boats, planes, and trains, as well as sedentary structures, such as lamp posts, street lights, railroad crossing markers and lights, and airport ground and runway lighting systems.
VEHICLE LAMP HEATER AND VEHICLE LAMP
This disclosure refers to a vehicle lamp heater, comprising a PTC heating resistor, a metallic cooling body fixed to the PTC heating resistor, and a holder holding the PTC heating resistor and the metallic cooling body. Also disclosed is vehicle lamp comprising a plastic housing with a transparent cover and such vehicle lamp heater.
MULTIFUNCTION LAMP UNIT AND REAR VIEW DEVICE THEREWITH
A multifunction lamp unit for a vehicle includes a housing, at least one light conductor with at least one illuminant provided by an LED on a printed circuit board, at least one light foil, and a clear lens. A method for manufacturing lamps for vehicles includes producing a housing, a light conductor, and a clear lens as one unit out of plastic in a 3-component injection procedure.
Headlamp Assembly with a Housing and Heat Sink Structure
A headlamp assembly for a vehicle includes housing for coupling the headlamp assembly to a vehicle and a heat sink structure having a first side, a second side, a first edge, and a second edge. A first light emitting diode assembly and a second light emitting diode assembly are each electrically connected to a circuit board. The second edge of the heat sink structure directly contacts an inner surface of the housing, such that the housing is separated into first and second sections by the heat sink structure. Illumination of the first light emitting diode assembly results in a low beam and illumination of both the first light emitting diode assembly and the second light emitting diode assembly results in a high beam.
Light module for a vehicle headlamp
The invention relates to a light module for a vehicle headlamp, having at least one semiconductor light source and having at least one mounting plate. The semiconductor light source is accommodated on a receiving side of the mounting plate. The mounting plate is disposed on the heat sink with a cooling side lying opposite the receiving side, At least one semiconductor light source can be cooled. The heat sink has air guidance grooves on its side bordering the cooling side of the mounting plate, by means of which air guidance channels are formed over the cooling side of the mounting plate.
Electrical Connecting Portion for a Device with a Heating Function
An electrical connecting portion for a device with a heating function is a portion of a heating unit of the device. The electrical connecting portion includes a substrate, two copper layers, and two electrically conductive coating layers. The substrate is made of a light-transmittable material and includes a front face and a rear face. Each of the two copper layers includes at least one first through-hole extending in a front-rear direction. Each of the two electrically conductive coating layers substantially covers a respective one of the two copper layers and is coupled to the front face of the substrate. Each of the two electrically conductive coating layers substantially fills the at least one first through-hole of the respective one of the two copper layers. The two electrically conductive coating layers have an insulating spacing therebetween. Thus, the electrical connecting portion prevents hot melting and provides better electrical connection reliability.
