A light for the exterior of a vehicle includes at least one illuminant and a lens. The illuminant emits light in an activated state that hits the lens directly or indirectly via a reflector. The lens is transparent to light in a first predetermined wavelength range and reflects light in a second different wavelength range when the illuminant is deactivated. The illuminant is at least one light-emitting diode (LED). The diode emits light in a third wavelength range, which is predetermined such that the emitted light, after transmission through the lens, is present in a predetermined fourth wavelength range that is at least different from the second wavelength region. The light can be used as part of a rear light in a vehicle.

The light assembly may be illuminated to increase the visibility of the guidepost. A pair of lighted guideposts may be coupled to opposing sides of the rear of the boat trailer such that the light assemblies may designate the rear of the boat trailer.

The vehicle lamp and the vehicle have the abovementioned light guide assembly.

An automotive headlamp system and an automotive lamp. The automotive headlamp system comprises a light source, a primary optical element, an automotive signal lamp structure, and a secondary optical element arranged sequentially along the light emitting direction. The automotive signal lamp structure comprises a light-transmitting portion and a rotating shaft. The light-transmitting portion comprises at least one light-transmitting plate mounted on the rotating shaft which can be driven to rotate by the rotating shaft. By means of rotation, light from the light source exits from the primary optical element, then selectively passes through one of or none of the light-transmitting plates, and is then projected by means of the secondary optical element to achieve a corresponding signal lamp function. The light-transmitting plate mounted on the rotating shaft is used to replace an existing signal lamp, reducing the space occupied by the original signal lamp, decreasing the volume of a headlamp.

A motor vehicle headlight, that includes a main-light module that provides a dipped main-light function having a mainly horizontal cut-off line and a secondary light module that provides two individually controllable light functions: one main-light function and one less powerful additional light function. The dipped main-light function of the main-light module is activated in conjunction with the additional light function of the secondary light module, such that the at least one secondary light module appears to be illuminated approximately as brightly as the main-light module. The secondary light module has a light guide plate into which light is coupled that propagates in the light guide plate using total reflection, and the light guide plate has output elements for outputting the propagating light from the light guide plate. The light output of the light guide plate illuminates an area above the cut-off line of the dipped main-light function of the main-light module.

A light-emitting assembly configured to generate varied color light includes an assembly housing. The light-emitting assembly also includes a light filter element fixed relative to the assembly housing. The light filter element includes a plurality of transparent nanostructured ElectroChromic (TNEC) layers. When at least one of the plurality of TNEC layers is subjected to voltage, the subject TNEC layer(s) imparts a distinct reflective color to ambient light entering the light-emitting assembly. Such a light-emitting assembly may be specifically adapted for use on a motor vehicle.
