Some variations provide a remediation composition for pesticide and/or heavy-metal remediation of a biomass extract, the remediation composition comprising at least one polysaccharide, at least one metal oxide, and at least one metal salt. Some variations provide a process for producing a biomass extract from a biomass feedstock, comprising: providing a starting biomass feedstock that contains a pesticide or a heavy metal; exposing the starting biomass feedstock to a process solvent, thereby forming a biomass extract dissolved and/or suspended in the process solvent, wherein the pesticide or heavy metal are contained in the biomass extract; providing a separation media containing a polysaccharide, a metal oxide, and a metal salt; and introducing the biomass extract to the separation media, wherein the pesticide or the heavy metal are removed by the separation media, thereby generating a remediated biomass extract. Systems utilizing the remediation composition in fixed or fluidized beds are described.

A method of removing one or more antibiotics from a dairy product, the method involve passing the dairy product comprising an antibiotic in a first amount through a bulk comprising, relative to a total bulk weight, at least 75 wt. % of titanium oxide nanostructures, to provide the dairy product comprising the antibiotic in a second, lesser amount, wherein the nanostructures have lengths at least two-fold in excess of their width and height. Bulk materials useful in this or related methods or applications may have loosely tangled, noodle-like morphologies on sub-100 nm scale, and need not employ graphene and/or polymeric support networks in columns, generally having only titanium oxides without silicon or iron oxides.

The generated ozone water is atomized to fully fill the entire storage compartment of the refrigerator to achieve effective pesticide residue removal and sterilization; ozone water can be prepared on demand to reduce waste; and people are well prevented from getting harmed at an excessive ozone concentration.

Disclosed are a nucleic acid molecule, a polypeptide having epoxy group-removing catalytic activity and use thereof. According to the invention, by means of genetic engineering, the nucleic acid molecule encoding a de-epoxidation protein is expressed in a plant, so that an epoxy group of a trichothecene mycotoxin is removed, and the toxin amount in the plant is reduced. The polypeptide of the invention is capable of catalyzing a reaction between vomitoxin and glutathione under mild conditions to remove epoxy groups to produce a glutathionylated derivative.

Method for extracting mycotoxins from grain, other food products and animal feed
The invention relates to a method for extracting mycotoxins from grain and other food products or from feed and its subsequent quantification. Fields of application are the food industry, the animal feed industry or biotechnology. The objective of the present invention is to develop an extraction method with which it is possible to uniformly extract mycotoxins with different dissolving properties. It was found that with the aid of aqueous, buffered naphthyl and/or phenyl compounds or their heterocyclical analogues, both hydrophobic and hydrophilic mycotoxins can be extracted. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the buffered solutions of naphthyl and/or phenyl compounds and/or their heterocyclical analogues, which carry at least one sulphonic acid or at least one carbonate acid group, are brought into contact with the grain or other food products or animal feed, the aqueous solution is then separated and the content of the extracted mycotoxins in the aqueous solution is determined.
Saccharopolyspora Composition and Its Application in Foods
The disclosure discloses a Saccharopolyspora composition and its application in foods, and belongs to the technical field of food fermentation. The disclosure screens Saccharopolyspora hirsuta J2 and Saccharopolyspora jiangxiensis J3 that have an effect of reducing biogenic amine content from wheat koji, and the two strains are prepared into a Saccharopolyspora mixed preparation for use in a preparation process of a fermented alcoholic beverage, fermented food or fermented condiment, so that amino acid content and nutritional value of a fermented product can be improved while the biogenic amine content is reduced, thereby achieving effects of enhancing quality of the fermented food and improving safety of the fermented food, and therefore, the Saccharopolyspora composition has a broad application prospect.
