Exercise apparatus and method
A weighted hip and lower back exerciser, for use in isolating and working out a targeted portion of the lower back or gluteal muscles through weighted internal and external rotation, that includes a framework, a upper body support section, a weight system, a the weighted leg pivot section. A user secures one of his/her legs onto a leg pad and pivots the leg pad by rotating his/her hip and lower back. The leg pad is connected to weights by a band passing through a pair of pulleys and a pulley cord guide. When the user swivels the leg rest, the user tenses the band thus lifting the weights, and resistance is generated. The user will isolate the rotational movement to the hip and lower back by leaning onto a chest support and resting his/her arms on an arm support mounted on a vertical rack above the weight assembly.
MULTI-DEGREE OF FREEDOM RESISTANCE EXERCISE DEVICE
A rehabilitative and/or exercise machine that has a frame with attachments to multiple independent bidirectional resistance devices (pneumatic, hydraulic, spring actuated, pulley system, cam, or any other resistance devices) used by the arms and/or legs to provide resistance against movement of the user's appendages in two substantially opposed directions. The resistance devices may have a mechanism such as one or more valves, brakes, springs, or the like that control bi-directional resistance. The action of the arms and/or legs in bi-directional resistance offers near full body exercise of the agonist/antagonist muscles using flexion and extension action of the larger muscle groups in a gait pattern, simultaneously. Hand engaging members attach to the arm resistance devices and foot engaging members attach to the leg resistance devices. The unit may include an attached inclined backboard, mat, bench, or cushion to fully or partially support the user, such as for the user to sit or lay on. The unit may have separate adjustment mechanisms for adjusting the height and/or length of the various portions of the unit to adjust the range of motion of the appendages. The unit may have devices to monitor pulse, oxygen flow and other vital signs.
Apparatus for physical exercise
An apparatus for physical exercise comprising a resistance arrangement having at least one hydraulic cylinder adapted for providing resistance forces in at least a first and a second direction, the apparatus having a force transmission assembly through which the resistance forces are operable. The force transmission assembly having at least one actuation member being in operable engagement therewith and being adapted to transfer forces generated by a user in at least two directions of motion to the at least one hydraulic cylinder via the force transmission assembly. The resistance forces created by the at least one hydraulic cylinder opposing the user generated forces.
Mini Stepper with Flat Steps
Improvements in a transportable stepper are disclosed. The mini stepper has steps that remain horizontal through the entire stroke. The mini stepper uses parallel connected arms to maintain flat steps so a user steps in a natural position and maintain a balanced posture. The stepper has a step height adjustment that links the two pedals. The travel or highest position for the foot pads is adjustable to change the resistance or work-out intensity for the user by limiting the vertical travel for the foot pads and links the foot pads to ensure when one footpad is being pushed downward, the opposing footpad is being elevated. The resistance pistons are surrounded by an insulation tube that minimizes skin contact to hot pistons. The mini stepper has a display that links to an application for tracking/displaying exercise related information.
COMBINED TREATMENT AND EXERCISE APPARATUS
A combined treatment, exercise, and traction apparatus including a base coupled to a plurality of linkages, a support frame having a first end and opposing second end and pivotally coupled to the plurality of linkages, the support frame formed to pivot between a first orientation and a different second orientation, a treatment table having a first end and an opposing second end, the treatment table slidably mounted to the support frame, and a plurality of actuators coupled between the base and the plurality of linkages, wherein the treatment table slides between a first position and a second position along a plane of the support frame when a first actuator is activated.
ADJUSTABLE EXERCISE PLANK MACHINE
An exercise machine for assisting in the performance of a core exercise that is adjustable between a plurality of configurations. The exercise machine includes a front track, a rear track, a first bar operably engaged with the front track and the rear track, a second bar operably engaged with the front track and the rear track, a first handle member operably engaged with the first bar proximate, a second handle member operably engaged with the second bar, a first foot block operably engaged with the first bar, and a second foot block operably engaged with the second bar. The first bar, the second bar, the first handle member, the second handle member, the first foot block, and the second foot block are all selectively adjustable to accommodate users of different shapes and heights as well as variations of core exercises.
Exercise machine
An exercise machine has a mobile base and an upright support extending upwards from the mobile base. An upper support assembly extends forward from an upper portion of the upright support and an exercise device is suspended from the upper support assembly at a location spaced forward from the upright support. The exercise machine may include a compact and safe counterbalancing gas spring mechanism that tends to move the exercise device away from the exerciser, and that requires a force to be applied to move an exercise device down towards the exerciser. The exercise machine may include an exercise device that is rotatable along a vertical axis, and may be coupled to an adjustable monitor for a wide range of uses. The exercise machine may be used by a exerciser lying supine, sitting in a chair or wheelchair, or standing in front of or adjacent the exercise machine.
Triceps press exercise machine with a moving user support
An exercise machine for performing triceps press exercises, including a moving user support that supports a user in a seated position. The exercise machine includes a linkage assembly that allows the moving user support to tilt as the user performs the triceps press exercise. As the user extends his or her arms from an exercise starting position to an exercise ending position, a user support frameand thus the user's torsoreclines progressively backwards. The user's natural reaction to this reclining sensation is to bring his or her head forward, which encourages the user to plant his or her lower back firmly into a stable position against a back pad and in turn reduces a risk of injury associated with excessively arching of the lower back.
Interactive Martial Arts Training Unit
An interactive hitting pad for a martial arts trainer is provided which includes a base; a hitting pad platform having a hitting pad; and a plurality of linear actuators, wherein each of the linear actuators includes a first end and a second end, and wherein the first end of each of the linear actuators is articulatably connected to the base, and wherein the second end of each of the linear actuators is articulatably connected to the hitting pad platform, to form a parallel manipulator. A control system is connected to the plurality of linear actuators adapted to control the position and orientation of the hitting pad platform, and one or more sensors are operatively connected to the hitting pad platform and in communication with the control system for sensing impacts to the hitting pad by a user. A martial arts training system using the interactive hitting pad, as well as a method of training, are also provided.
Exercise machine resistance adjustment system
An exercise machine resistance adjustment system for providing an exerciser the ability to immediately adjust the resistance force by changing their body position on the movable carriage or end platforms. The exercise machine resistance adjustment system generally includes a frame, a carriage movably positioned on the frame, a spring connected to the carriage to apply a biasing force to the carriage, one or more left projections within the carriage adapted for a left hand of an exerciser to grasp, and one or more right projections within the carriage adapted for a right hand of an exerciser to grasp. The exerciser is able to efficiently adjust the amount of resistance force applied to the carriage by repositioning their hands (or feet) from a first set of projections at a first distance to a second set of projections at a second distance from the first end of the exercise machine.
