The burner tip includes at least one series of nozzles intended to inject an external air flow; a second series of nozzles intended to inject tangential air flow; and a third series of apertures intended to inject the fuel and transport air. The ends downstream of the first and second burner pipes are joined and define a continuous external annular surface of the burner tip. The nozzles are arranged within an inscribed area, being the dimension of the nozzles limited by a rate between the open area A of the nozzles and the complementary closed area A.

BURNER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF COMBUSTION

A burner apparatus (10) includes a fluid-based flame stabilizer for discharging a stabilized flame therefrom, a burner tile (44), and fuel lances associated with the burner tile. Each of the fuel lances has a discharge nozzle (40). A Coanda feature (34) having a Coanda surface directs a portion of the stabilized flame from the passage defined by the burner tile at the discharge end of a primary flow passage (32) toward at least one first fuel lance of the plurality of fuel lances to cross light the at least one first fuel lance. In another embodiment, a method of combustion includes supplying a first gaseous fuel to fuel lances of a burner apparatus and igniting and sustaining combustion of a gaseous fuel by cross lighting at the discharge nozzles of the fuel lances by flow from the fluid-based flame stabilizer along a Coanda surface of a Coanda feature toward the discharge nozzles.

A burner assembly for and method of producing ethylene having a mechanism to inject either primary fuel, staged fuel, or both by premix methods before combustion in a furnace. The burner assembly has at least one premix injection assembly for either exclusively primary fuel or exclusively staged fuel injection paired with a nozzle mix injection or injection means for primary and staged fuel both by premix methods. The primary fuel premix assembly associates with a burner tile that consists of multiple inlets and outlets connected by venturi channels to direct and combine combustion air and staged fuel coming from staged fuel orifice spuds. Primary fuel and combustion air are mixed in a premix assembly and directed inside the furnace, and above the burner tile to complete the reaction with the staged fuel and combustion air mixture in a combustion zone inside of the furnace.

wherein at least one of the primary air outlets and preferably a number of the primary air outlets comprise a single orifice outlet or a multiple orifice outlet forming a flat jet air outlet (11) having a major axis and a minor axis and being configured to eject a flat jet air stream (13) having a flat fan pattern with a predetermined fan angle v.

Sequential combustion arrangement with dilution gas

The invention refers to a sequential combustor arrangement including a first combustor with a first burner for admitting a first fuel into a combustor inlet gas during operation and a first combustion chamber for burning the first fuel, a dilution gas admixer for admixing a dilution gas to the first combustor combustion products leaving the first combustion chamber, and a second burner for admixing a second fuel and a second combustion chamber. To assure good mixing over a wide operating range, the ratio of the pressure loss of the first combustor to the pressure loss of the dilution gas admixer is in the range of 1 to 6. The invention further refers to a gas turbine including such a sequential combustor arrangement as well as method for operating a gas turbine with such a sequential combustor arrangement.

Biomass-mixed, pulverized coal-fired burner and fuel combustion method

A biomass-mixed, pulverized coal-fired burner is provided, capable of burning biomass fuel as auxiliary fuel in large quantities and burning only pulverized coal when the biomass fuel is not sufficiently available. The biomass-mixed, pulverized coal-fired burner includes a biomass fuel jet nozzle that extends axially along the biomass-mixed, pulverized coal-fired burner, a fuel jet nozzle that is open midway in the biomass fuel jet nozzle, a secondary air nozzle that surrounds the fuel jet nozzle, and a tertiary air nozzle that surrounds the secondary air nozzle. A pulverized coal component in a fuel stream as a mixture of the pulverized coal fuel stream and the biomass fuel stream is distributed with a higher concentration on an outer circumferential wall side and a biomass fuel component in the fuel stream is distributed inside of the pulverized coal fuel component.

Central burner for multi-fuel multiple lance burner system

The invention relates to a central burner for multi-fuel multiple lance burner systems having a central lance with an inner pipe and an outer pipe. The inner pipe and the outer pipe form an annular clearance duct. A plurality of outer lances are arranged around the central lance. A funnel-like mixing device is provided in the extension of the annular clearance duct in the region of the end of the inner pipe. This funnel-like mixing device has openings in its wall for combustion media to flow through. The outer lances each have a nozzle which has openings along the lateral circumferential area, said openings being arranged asymmetrically.
