Hand-Held Apparatus for Stroke Rehabilitation
A hand-held hand exercise apparatus capable of being used for stroke rehabilitation can include a foam body, a knotted strip of elastic material, and structure embedded in the body. The body can be configured to be held and compressed by a user's hand. The knotted strip can form inner and outer loops. The embedded structure can extend through the inner loop to at least partially connect the knotted strip to the body. The outer loop can be outside of the body. A user holding the body can have their finger extend through the outer loop to restrict the body from being dropped.
HAND GRIP EXERCISER
A handgrip exercising device is disclosed comprising: two pivotally interconnected arms; each arm having a first end region, a central region and a second end region; each arm having at its first end region a hand grip, a central region comprising a pivot pin receiving area, a pivot pin extending between the two arms to enable the two arms to be rotatably connected together, each arm having at its second end region a mounting portion; a resistance providing element providing a resistive force against rotational movement of the arms and having first and second ends, a first mounting portion of the first arm including means to support the first end of the resistance providing element, a second mounting portion of the second arm including means to support the second end of the resistance providing element and adjustment means to adjust the resistive force applied by the resistance providing element to the rotation of the two arms around the pivot pin.
Blood Flow Assist Device
A blood flow assist device includes a flexible sleeve, at least one blood flow stimulator incorporated into the sleeve, and an actuator assembly coupled to the blood flow stimulator. The sleeve has a first portion configured to receive at least a portion of a arm and a second portion configured to engage a portion of a hand. The first and second portions of the sleeve properly position each blood flow stimulator on the arm. The actuator assembly individually controls and selectively actuates each blood flow stimulator to apply a stimulus to the arm to control blood flow through a vein in the arm or hand having a vein access device connected thereto. The blood flow assist device may be paired with a blood processing device, with a controller of the blood processing device controlling the actuator assembly based on a pressure and/or flow rate of blood into the blood processing device.
FITNESS DEVICE FOR EXERCISE AND BALANCE DEVELOPMENT
A fitness device is provided, the fitness device comprising: a spheroidal member having an interior cavity, the spheroidal member comprising a cylindrical portion extending between a first hemispherical endcap and a second hemispherical endcap, wherein a surface of the spheroidal member defines an aperture positioned between the interior cavity and an exterior of the spheroidal member; and a structured surface positioned on the surface of the spheroidal member over the aperture, the structured surface extending into the interior cavity of the spheroidal member.
Virtual reality archery training system
An adjustable archery training bow assembly includes a single resistance element and an adjustment mechanism that can be actuated by a user to vary the tension level in the resistance element for training purposes. The training bow also includes a mount for receiving a mobile device, which allows the user to practice various augmented reality-archery training scenarios. The adjustable archery training bow is used to enhance the user's skills, such as his/her strength, stability, and accuracy to help deliver on-target an arrow fired from a real, non-training bow.
FOOT TRAINING DEVICE AND FOOT TRAINING METHOD
A training device and a method for training a foot using the using the device; the device including a fulcrum placed at a center, four projections, and projecting in different directions from the fulcrum, each of the four projections having, at least in a portion thereof, elastic members that are bendable. The training device is configured to improve foot muscle strength by bending and stretching the elastic members. At least two of the four projections have different degrees of elasticity in flexure as determined when a force is applied to a distal end of each of the at least two projections to bend the elastic members. The four projections project in cross directions from the fulcrum at the center, and, for each pair of projections that oppose each other across the fulcrum, the projections are arranged on a straight line. None of the four projections has an annular structure.
CUSTOMIZABLE ANATOMICAL SACRAL-ISCHIAL APPARATUS
One of the most common health and fitness problems that modern-day humans face is the “Belly Bulge Syndrome”. This core problem is related to weakness of the abdominal muscle, mainly Rectus Abdominus muscle. The current invention provides a customizable anatomical sacral-ischial apparatus in different embodiments as multiple devices to assist the user to strengthen the abdominal and lower back muscle during exercise and rest. These devices are called HUMAN ABDOMINAL REHABILITATION DEVICES (“HARD”). The use of these devices can improve human health and fitness and contribute to a more active and fulfilling lifestyle.
Exercise Machine Tension Device Securing System
An exercise machine tension device securing system for safely and efficiently securing selectable biasing members to an exercise machine. The exercise machine tension device securing system generally includes an exercise machine including a frame and a carriage movably positioned on the frame. A plurality of tension devices may be connected to the frame at one end; with the other end being removably connected to the carriage by a selection device. The selection device may include a plurality of slots for removably receiving one or more of the tension devices to secure the tension devices selectively to the carriage. A securing member movably connected to the selection device includes projections adapted to selectively enclose the slots so as to secure the tension devices within the slots of the selection device.
TRAINING DEVICE FOR CHEWING AND SWALLOWING
The training device for chewing and swallowing can be used by patients who have difficulty chewing and/or swallowing to assist them to learn how to chew and swallow. The device includes a bolus delivery cylinder and a plunger. The bolus delivery cylinder can include a cylindrical housing having a peripheral wall and a hollow interior. The plunger can be slidably received in the cylindrical housing and secured thereto. In some embodiments the peripheral wall can be perforated. The interior of the housing is configured to accommodate small pieces of food. The bolus delivery cylinder can be made from a transparent, flexible material, such as silicon.
