Exercise machine with electromagnetic resistance selection
An exercise machine with electromagnetic resistance selection for changing exercise resistance settings by engaging more or fewer resistance biasing members using a electromagnets. An example implementation includes a movable carriage configured to move substantially along the length of one or more rails. A plurality of resistance biasing members are removably attachable between a stationary biasing member bracket affixed to the machine structure and the movable carriage. A controller changes the resistance settings against the movable carriage by electrically attaching or detaching any preferred number of resistance biasing members between the machine structure and movable carriage.
LATERAL GLIDE ELLIPTICAL EXERCISE APPARATUS
A lateral glide elliptical exercise apparatus includes a frame defining a center line, a pair of pedal units disposed at two opposite lateral sides relative to the center line each including a pivoting block and a pedal shaft pivotally connected to the pivoting block, a damping unit for providing a damping resistance to the pedal units, and a pair of gliding guide units respectively mounted at the frame, each gliding guide unit includes a gliding guide, an actuation block and a linkage arranged so that the actuation block can be driven by the associating linkage to slide smoothly between an inner end portion and an outer end portion of the associating gliding guide when the pedal units are being alternately pedaled by the user.
Apparatus, System, and Method for Providing a Heart Rate Monitor with Antimicrobial Contacts
An exercise machine including a heart rate monitor with antimicrobial contacts. The exercise machine includes one or more hand grips and a plurality of heart rate contacts. The plurality of heart rate contacts are disposed on the one or more hand grips. Each of the plurality of heart rate contacts includes a contact surface and an electrical insulator. The contact surface includes an oligodynamic material. The electrical insulator is disposed between the contact surface and a hand grip body. The contact surface is electrically insulated from the hand grip body by the electrical insulator
DEVICE WITH RECIPROCATING UPPER EXTREMITY SUPPORT ASSEMBLIES
An upper body support assembly for use with an associated railed device having first and second rails is disclosed. The assembly includes first and second upper body supports capable of moving along the first and second rails, respectively. The upper body supports have at least one of: (i) first and second forearm supports, (ii) first and second hand grips, or (iii) a first forearm support and a first hand grip. An interconnecting member extends between and selectively connects both the first and second upper body supports to permit (i) interrelated movement therebetween when connected, and (ii) independent movement therebetween when disconnected. The assembly can achieve two point gait, three point gait, and four point gait movement.
Elliptical machine capable of realizing three-dimensional pedaling training
An elliptical machine includes a machine frame and two pedal units each including a vertical arm having a top end pivotally connected to the machine frame and swingable back and forth, a driving main arm having a front end arranged on an opposing bottom end of the vertical arm in a vertically swingable manner, a pedal mount arranged on an opposing rear end of the driving main arm and swingable left and right, a pedal arranged on the pedal mount and swingable left and right, a slanting rod having a front end arranged on the vertical arm in a vertically swingable manner and an opposing rear end arranged on the pedal mount in a universally rotatable manner, and a rocking link that has a front end arranged on the rear end of the driving main arm and swingable back and forth and up and down.
Exercise methods and apparatus
A variable stride exercise apparatus may provide a novel linkage assembly and corresponding exercise apparatus suitable for linking circular motion to relatively more complex, generally elliptical motion. Left and right cranks are rotatably mounted on a frame. A foot supporting linkage is movably connected between a rocker and the left and right cranks in such a manner that may provide a variable paths of motion controlled by a user of the apparatus.
Electromechanical device for simulation of physical exercises with legs and arms
An electromechanical device for simulation of physical exercise with legs and arms includes two pedals mounted on two contiguous pantographs, with parallel supporting arms that are positioned in a predominantly vertical sense, with an orthogonal junction and parallel arms which are articulated, in a predominantly horizontal sense, onto the frame of the device and which always move in opposing directions left and right, through traverses which are articulated on vertical and horizontal axles, respectively, connected to vertical and horizontal parallel bars by means of risers.
Locking device for recumbent stepper
A locking device for an exercise system may include at least one moveable assembly that is in communication with a resistance mechanism. The locking device has an actuating device for selectively engaging the locking device, a locking member having a contact portion, wherein the contact portion of the locking member is not in contact with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system when the actuating device is in a first position, thereby allowing movement of the at least one moveable assembly, and wherein the contact portion of the locking member is in contact with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system when the actuating device is in a second position, thereby preventing movement of the at least one moveable assembly.
Elliptical exercise device with cam drive
An elliptical exercise device has a frame and guide link pivotally attached thereto. A foot support link is pivotally connected to a lower attachment point of each guide link so that when the guide links pivot relative to the frame, foot receiving areas of the foot support links move in a path of travel having a horizontal component of motion. A cam drive has cams supported for rotation about an axis of rotation and pivoting arms each engaging one of the cams such that rotation of the cams causes movement of the pivoting arms. Flexible elements couple the foot support links to the pivoting arms such that rotation of the cams moves the foot receiving areas of the respective foot support links in a path of travel having a vertical component of motion.
Exercise machine carriage handle system
An exercise machine carriage handle system for providing handles for an exerciser to grasp with their hands thereby expanding the type of exercises that may be performed. The exercise machine carriage handle system generally includes a frame having a track, a carriage movably connected to the track, a bias member connected between the frame and the carriage, a first handle connected to the carriage near the first side, and a second handle connected to the carriage near the second side. The first handle and second handle are adapted for grasping with a first hand and a second hand respectively of a user during the performance of an exercise on the exercise machine.
