Radiant boiler for pressurized oxy-combustion and method of radiant trapping to control heat flux in high temperature particle-laden flows at elevated pressure

A boiler has a shell surrounding a vertical centerline. The shell defines an inner surface having an inner diameter and an inner length extending between an upper upstream end and a lower downstream end. The inner surface defines a hollow interior, the boiler having a pre-combustion zone, a combustion zone downstream from the pre-combustion zone, and a post-combustion zone downstream from the combustion zone. The shell is tapered outward along its length in at least a portion of the combustion zone. An oxidizer inlet is in fluid communication with the pre-combustion zone, and a fuel nozzle introduces fuel into the combustion zone. A tube assembly is mounted in the hollow interior of the shell for transferring heat to fluid flowing through the tube assembly. A flue duct is in fluid communication with the post-combustion zone for transporting flue gases from the hollow interior.

The present invention relates to an air purification apparatus for a coal-fired electric power plant, and more specifically to an air purification apparatus for a coal-fired electric power plant, which, first, can filter out wastes of contaminated smoke by using limewater, which, second, can filter out fine dust and carbon dioxide included in the smoke, which, third, can convert waste gas including carbon monoxide in a state in which only smoke remains into carbon dioxide by reacting oxygen with the waste gas and purify the smoke into clean air by allowing a sodium hydroxide solution to absorb the carbon dioxide, and which, fourth, can eliminate humidity from the clean air by passing the clean air through a moisture condenser a plurality of times and discharge clean air in a pure smoke state from the power plant.

Method and system of increasing water and acid condensation from flue gas

The system and method spatially predict the condensation of water and acid from the flue gas in the condensing heat exchanger installed in fossil power plant flue gas treatment system or similar environment. By modifying the operational conditions, the heat exchanger can control rates and areas of condensations. The system and method adjust either the cooling water temperature or the flowrate ratio of flue gas to cooling water to control the condensation rates of water or acids. The system and method also estimate actual coverage areas to apply for anti-corrosive coating onto the tube or duct surfaces to resist corrosion due to acid condensation. The system and method also optimize or customize condensation rates of water and acids in boiler flue gas under operating conditions given at a power plant.

A method for removing noxious, hazardous, toxic, mutagenic, and/or carcinogenic compounds and/or precursor compounds from a comingled gas, liquid, and/or solid stream is described. In one embodiment, the method is used to prepare the stream for feeding to an oxidizer, such as a thermal oxidizer, to reduce the amount of particulate matter discharged by the oxidizer and includes passing the stream through an ambient or chilled temperature condenser followed by an optional gas/solid separator, and one or more gas scrubbers prior to feeding to the oxidizer.

Cyclonic cooling system

Fractionation, the process used by refineries to break down carbon chains of petroleum compounds so that the desired carbon compound can be achieved. This process typically involves high heat, distillation, re-boiling, and energy intensive cooling processes. This application discloses an invention that will condense vapor produced by a pyrolysis reactor. This system uses one standard cyclone; three cascading cyclones with internal cyclonic rotation fins that force incoming vapor to maintain a fixed amount of rotation regardless of the vapor's velocity, heat sinks that increase condensation, reversing fins that force gases to reverse direction inside the cyclone decreasing vapor velocity to increase heat loss; a main collection tank that allows for the controlling of the fuel flash point; a compact low temperature coil cooler that uses 100 percent of the cooling surface that allows for the production of higher quality fuel; and, bubblers/scrubbers that produce back pressure into the pyrolysis reactor.
