ULTRA LOW EMISSIONS FIRETUBE BOILER BURNER
According to an embodiment, a fired heater includes a fuel and combustion air source configured to output fuel and combustion air into a combustion volume, the combustion volume including a combustion volume wall defining a lateral extent separate from an exterior volume. According to an embodiment, the fired heater includes a boiler heater and the combustion volume wall comprises a combustion pipe defining a lateral extent of the combustion volume, the combustion pipe being disposed to separate the combustion volume from a water and steam volume. The fired heater includes a mixing tube aligned to receive the fuel and combustion air from the fuel and combustion air source. The mixing tube may be separated from the combustion volume wall by a separation volume. The fired heater includes a bluff body flame holder aligned to receive a fuel and combustion air mixture from an outlet end of the mixing tube. The bluff body flame holder may be configured to hold a combustion reaction for heating a combustion volume wall. The combustion volume wall may include a combustion pipe. The combustion pipe may be configured to heat the water in the water and steam volume.
Continuous glucose monitoring based on remote sensing of variations of parameters of a SiC implanted antenna
A passive sensing continuous glucose monitoring system and method of use thereof. The system includes a passive antenna formed of biocompatible silicon carbide (SiC), modeled to a desired frequency, which is permanently implanted subcutaneously. The system further includes an external-to-the-body transmitting antenna to detect changes in the blood glucose level by sending a radio signal at the frequency of the implanted passive antenna into the body. This signal is received and reflected by the passive antenna, and the reflected signal is then received at an external-to-the-body receiving antenna. Changes in the glucose level lead to modifications in the signal and can be used to determine the blood glucose level externally.
FUEL COMBUSTION SYSTEM WITH A PERFORATED REACTION HOLDER
A combustion system such as a furnace or boiler includes a perforated reaction holder configured to hold a combustion reaction that produces very low oxides of nitrogen (NOx).
Fuel combustion system with a perforated reaction holder
A combustion system such as a furnace or boiler includes a perforated reaction holder configured to hold a combustion reaction that produces very low oxides of nitrogen (NOx).
Combustion system
A combustion control system that collects and accumulates, at predetermined intervals, combustion controlling information including at least a signal indicating an operating state of an ignition device, a signal indicating the supplying state of fuel to a pilot burner, a signal indicating the supplying state of fuel to a main burner, a signal indicating the supplying state of air to the main burner, a flame detection signal indicating the strengths of the flames of the burners (the pilot burner and the main burner), and information indicating presence or absence of the flames determined based on the value of the flame detection signal, and displays the combustion controlling information as trend data of combustion control in a graph in such a form that the relationship between time zones of the combustion sequences from the start of a combustion device to normal combustion and the trend data is understandable.
PERFORATED FLAME HOLDER SUPPORT STRUCTURE WITH HEATING ELEMENT
In a fuel and oxidant combustion system, a flame holder support structure includes a heating element that receives electrical energy from an electrical power source. The heating element is raised to an auto-ignition temperature of a fuel and oxidant mixture directed, along an axis proximate the flame holder support structure, to a flame holder for combustion thereof.
PYROPHORIC LIQUID IGNITION SYSTEM FOR PILOT BURNERS AND FLARE TIPS
Described herein are methods and systems for using pyrophoric liquids to ignite combustible gas.
STARTUP METHOD AND MECHANISM FOR A BURNER HAVING A PERFORATED FLAME HOLDER
According to an embodiment, a combustion system is provided, which includes a nozzle configured to emit a diverging fuel flow, a flame holder positioned in the path of the fuel flow and that includes a plurality of apertures extending therethrough, and a preheat mechanism configured to heat the flame to a temperature exceeding a startup temperature threshold.
Modulating burner with venturi damper
A modulating burner apparatus includes a burner and a blower placed upstream of the burner. A venturi is placed upstream of the blower. A damper valve is placed upstream of the venturi. The damper valve has an open position and a restricted position. A smaller gas valve and a larger gas valve are communicated with the venturi. A controller is operably associated with the system to select a position of the damper valve and to select the appropriate one of the gas valves so as to provide a low output operation mode and a high output operation mode, which in combination provide an overall turndown ratio of at least 25:1.
