A lighter case is provided. The lighter case may have a main body forming a clamshell shaped to receive a cigarette lighter. The lighter case may have a grinding apparatus on a portion of the main body or slidable relative to the main body and configured to disaggregate a smoking material. The lighter case may collect the disaggregated smoking material and may guide the disaggregated smoking material into a receptacle such as by scooping or via a piston. In this manner, the smoking material may be prepared.

Glow plug

A glow plug includes a cylindrical housing, a rod-shaped heater, a membrane portion, and a pressure sensor. The cylindrical housing extends along an axial direction. The rod-shaped heater extending along the axial direction is displaced along the axial direction and has one end portion disposed within the housing, and an other end portion which is exposed from the housing. The membrane portion connects together the heater and the housing and has a multi-layer construction which has a first layer and a second layer of which at least part is positioned nearer to the other end portion in the axial direction of the heater than the first layer. The pressure sensor measures a pressure within a combustion chamber in which the other end portion is disposed by making use of a displacement of the heater. A thickness of the second layer is larger than a thickness of the first layer.

HANDHELD COMPUTER CASE HAVING INTEGRAL LIGHTER
20170227219 · 2017-08-10 ·

A handheld computer case having an integral lighter for providing a flameless lighter in a case for a mobile phone includes a case body defining a rigid housing sized to fit a conventional handheld computer, a lighter actuator for selectively availing and activating an electric lighter, and a lighter housing in which the electric lighter is disposed. In operation, a user may apply manual force to mechanically actuate the lighter actuator, thereby causing both the lighter housing to open and expose the electric lighter and an electrical switch to direct electricity from an internal battery to a heating element which defines the electric lighter. Once the user is finished with the lighter, the manual force may be removed to cause the lighter housing to automatically close and the flow of electricity to the heating element to be interrupted.

Method for regulating or controlling the temperature of a sheathed-element glow plug
09816478 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A method for regulating or controlling the temperature of a sheathed-element glow plug in a heating phase of the sheathed-element glow plug, where a temperature value is determined as a function of a resistance of the sheathed-element glow plug. To render possible the regulation or control of the temperature of the sheathed-element glow plug also during a transient temperature distribution within the sheathed-element glow plug, the resistance used for determining the temperature value during a transient thermal response within the sheathed-element glow plug is calculated with the aid of a physical model.

Holiday Shabbat Ignitor

An aspect of some embodiments of the current invention relates to a device, that may ignite a substance without the user directly causing the ignition. for example, the device may perform ignition in a manner that does not transgress Jewish religious prohibitions, for example the Jewish religious law prohibits kindling a flame on the Sabbath and/or festivals. In some cases, kindling may be permitted in an indirect manner referred to in Jewish law by the Aramaic term “Grama”. For example, the device may be designed to ignite a cigarette. Optionally, the device may be designed to be carried safely in a pocket. In some embodiments, the device may initiate ignition without direct user action and/or the initial ignition may be used to ignite another object in accordance with Jewish law allowing transfer of fire but prohibiting starting of a new fire on a holiday.
