Condensate drain system for a furnace
A condensate drain system for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a heat exchanger having a plurality of tubes configured to receive ambient air and fluidly coupled to a drain via a conduit, a valve positioned along the conduit between the plurality of tubes and the drain, where the valve is configured to enable a flow of condensate from within the plurality of tubes toward the drain in an open position and the block the flow in a closed position, and a controller configured to adjust a position of the valve based on feedback indicative of an operational state of the HVAC system.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR VENTED ROLLOUT SWITCH
A furnace includes a gas burner exposed to a heat-exchange tube. An inducer is fluidly coupled to the heat-exchange tube and configured to induce draft air through the heat-exchange tube. A regulator is fluidly coupled to the gas burner. A rollout shield is disposed adjacent to the gas burner. A rollout switch is disposed in the rollout shield. The rollout switch is electrically coupled to the regulator. At least one vent is formed through the rollout shield adjacent to the rollout switch. The vent provides a path for a rollout flame to the rollout switch. The at least one vent is disposed on at least two sides of the rollout switch.
CONDENSATE DRAIN SYSTEM FOR A FURNACE
A condensate drain system for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a heat exchanger having a plurality of tubes configured to receive ambient air and fluidly coupled to a drain via a conduit, a valve positioned along the conduit between the plurality of tubes and the drain, where the valve is configured to enable a flow of condensate from within the plurality of tubes toward the drain in an open position and the block the flow in a closed position, and a controller configured to adjust a position of the valve based on feedback indicative of an operational state of the HVAC system.
REFRIGERATION CYCLE DEVICE
A refrigeration cycle device includes a compressor configured to compress and discharge a refrigerant containing oil, a refrigerant radiator configured to heat the ventilation air using the refrigerant discharged from the compressor as a heat source during a room interior heating, a refrigerant decompression unit configured to decompress the refrigerant having passed through the refrigerant radiator, an evaporator configured to evaporate the refrigerant and to function as a heat absorber during the room interior heating; and a controller configured to control the refrigerant decompression unit and to perform a fluctuation operation at least during the room interior heating. In the fluctuation operation, a throttle opening degree of the refrigerant decompression unit is changed such that a refrigerant state on a refrigerant outlet side of the evaporator is alternately changed to a superheated state having a superheat degree and a wet state containing the wet vapor.
Systems and Methods for Operating a Furnace
Methods and related systems for operating a furnace are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes activating a burner assembly and a first fan of the furnace to combust fuel and air and circulate combustion gases along a flow path extending through a heat exchanger of the furnace. In addition, the method includes operating a second fan of the furnace to circulate air across an external surface of the heat exchanger of the furnace and produce a conditioned airflow. Further, the method includes monitoring one or more parameters of a motor of the second fan indicative of an airflow rate of the conditioned airflow, and deactivating the burner assembly, whereby combustion of the fuel and air in the furnace ceases, in response to the one or more parameters indicating that the airflow rate is less than a minimum airflow rate.
Push/Pull Furnace and Methods Related Thereto
Example furnaces and methods related thereto are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the furnace includes a burner box including at least one burner configured to combust a fuel/air mixture. In addition, the furnace includes a first blower including an inlet nozzle having an air inlet and fuel inlet. The inlet nozzle is configured such that operation of the first blower is to pull air and fuel into the inlet nozzle to produce the fuel/air mixture at a fuel/air ratio that is configured to produce flue products having less than 14 Nano-grams per Joule of nitrogen oxides when combusted. Operation of the first blower is configured to push the fuel/air mixture into the burner box. Further, the furnace includes a heat exchanger assembly fluidly coupled to the burner box through a vestibule, and a second blower configured to pull the flue products through the heat exchanger assembly.
Push/Pull Furnace and Methods Related Thereto
Example furnaces and methods related thereto are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the furnace includes a burner box including at least one burner configured to combust a fuel/air mixture. In addition, the furnace includes a first blower including an inlet nozzle having an air inlet and fuel inlet. The inlet nozzle is configured such that operation of the first blower is to pull air and fuel into the inlet nozzle to produce the fuel/air mixture at a fuel/air ratio that is configured to produce flue products having less than 14 Nano-grams per Joule of nitrogen oxides when combusted. Operation of the first blower is configured to push the fuel/air mixture into the burner box. Further, the furnace includes a heat exchanger assembly fluidly coupled to the burner box through a vestibule, and a second blower configured to pull the flue products through the heat exchanger assembly.
Indirect gas furnace
A high turndown furnace for an air handling system. In one example, the furnace includes a plurality of tubes divisible by four with a first modulating valve supplying gas to ¼ of the tubes and a second modulating valve supplying gas to ¾ of the tubes. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing a 16:1 turndown. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing seamless turndown operation throughout the entire firing range.
Indirect gas furnace
A high turndown furnace for an air handling system. In one example, the furnace includes a plurality of tubes divisible by four with a first modulating valve supplying gas to ¼ of the tubes and a second modulating valve supplying gas to ¾ of the tubes. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing a 16:1 turndown. In one aspect, the furnace is capable of providing seamless turndown operation throughout the entire firing range.
Temperature control of a modular building
A modular building with a structure having various constructional elements including columns joists and rafters each including a void to accommodate pipes that carry fluid at a certain temperature, the pipes extending at least below the floor of the building through the joists that are enclosed by a base to define a cavity affecting the temperature of the air in-between the floor and the base. Air vents are provided in the floor to allow for the air flow between the cavity and the inside of the modular building.
