Systems, methods and articles for enhancing wellness associated with habitable environments
Environmental characteristics of habitable environments (e.g., hotel or motel rooms, spas, resorts, cruise boat cabins, offices, hospitals and/or homes, apartments or residences) are controlled to eliminate, reduce or ameliorate adverse or harmful aspects and introduce, increase or enhance beneficial aspects in order to improve a wellness or sense of wellbeing provided via the environments. Control of intensity and wavelength distribution of passive and active Illumination addresses various issues, symptoms or syndromes, for instance to maintain a circadian rhythm or cycle, adjust for jet lag or season affective disorder, etc. Air quality and attributes are controlled. Scent(s) may be dispersed. Hypoallergenic items (e.g., bedding, linens) may be used. Water quality is controlled. Noise is reduced and sounds (e.g., masking, music, natural) may be provided. Passive and active pathogen controls are employed. Controls are provided for the occupant and/or facility personnel, as is instruction, and surveys, including assessing wellness.
MICROFLUIDIC-BASED APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR VAPORIZATION OF LIQUIDS
Methods and apparatus for vaporizing liquid into the surrounding environment, including directing liquid from a liquid source through an inverse-opal wicking structure to a vaporization port where the vaporization port is formed by a through-hole in a structure connecting a first side of the structure to a second side, with all dimensions ranging from 10 um to 300 um, that is in fluid communication with the liquid source and the surrounding environment so that fluid is transported through the vaporization port between the first and the second side. The methods and apparatus includes plurality of heating elements that may be individually and/or selectively addressable by at least three electrode leads.
METHOD FOR SCREENING ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT
A method for screening an antimicrobial agent which is capable of controlling microorganisms causing offensive odor in an air-conditioning system and a method for removing offensive odor in an air-conditioning system are provided. The method for screening an antimicrobial agent and the method for removing offensive odor in an air-conditioning system may be used for various purposes of industrial application. For example, they may be used to develop a novel antimicrobial agent capable of inhibiting the growth of the microorganisms or to develop an air freshener for removing offensive odor by elucidating the chemical properties of the metabolites of the microorganisms. In addition, they may be used to fundamentally remove the cause of offensive odor by providing an air-conditioning system with an environment where the microorganisms may not live.
Humidifier
A humidifier includes a first housing, a second housing, a water atomization module, an essential oil delivery module, and an essential oil container. The first housing includes an outer wall including a recess. The second housing is fixedly embedded in an upper part of the recess. The water atomization module is disposed in the first housing. The water atomization module includes a first container, a water passage, and an ultrasonic atomizer. The water flows out of the first container, enters the water passage into the ultrasonic atomizer, and is atomized to produce mist. The essential oil delivery module is disposed in the second housing. The essential oil container is connected to the essential oil delivery module. The essential oil delivery module is configured to transfer essential oil from the essential oil container to the water passage so that the essential oil and the water are atomized together.
