11248814 · 2022-02-15 · ·

A structure comprises at least one outer wall having an internal wall section and an outer wall section with an air flow passage therebetween. A circulation system circulates air through the flow passage to inhibit moisture accumulation and mold growth. A sensing system determines the presence of moisture in the flow passage and generates a signal in response thereto. A controller receives the signal from the sensing system and controls the circulation system to maintain a predetermined temperature and relative humidity in the flow passage.

A dehumidification system for use with a dehumidification refrigerant to dry ambient air as part of a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (“HVAC”) system that includes an HVAC condenser as part of an HVAC refrigeration circuit. The dehumidification system may include a dehumidification refrigeration circuit separate from the HVAC refrigeration circuit. The dehumidification circuit may include a dehumidification compressor, a dehumidification condenser, a dehumidification expansion device, and a dehumidification evaporator. The dehumidification condenser may be positioned in close proximity to the HVAC condenser such that airflow across the HVAC condenser also flows across the dehumidification condenser. The dehumidification evaporator may be spaced apart from the dehumidification condenser such that airflow across the dehumidification evaporator does not flow across the dehumidification condenser.

HYDRONIC BUILDING SYSTEMS CONTROL
20220178566 · 2022-06-09 · ·

Controlling heating and cooling in a conditioned space utilizes a fluid circulating in a thermally conductive structure in fluid connection with a hydronic-to-air heat exchanger and a ground heat exchanger. Air is moved past the hydronic-to-air heat exchanger, the air having fresh air supply and stale air exhaust. Sensors located throughout the conditioned space send data to a controller. User input to the controller sets the desired set point temperature and humidity. Based upon the set point temperature and humidity and sensor data, the controller sends signals to various devices to manipulate the flow of the fluid and the air in order to achieve the desired set point temperature and humidity in the conditioned space. The temperature of the fluid is kept less than the dew point at the hydronic-to-air heat exchanger and the temperature of the fluid is kept greater than the dew point at the thermally conductive structure.

AIR TREATMENT DEVICE

An air treatment device includes a casing, a drain pan provided in the casing, a camera configured to capture an inner surface of the drain pan to obtain image data, and a lighting device configured to apply, to a photographing target of the camera, visible light having a maximum peak wavelength in a wavelength band from 400 nm to 500 nm.

Condensate pump assembly

There is provided a condensate pump assembly (100) for use in an air conditioning system. The condensate pump assembly (100) comprises a pump (102) arranged in a housing (104) to pump liquid from a liquid inlet (116) towards a liquid outlet (106). The condensate pump assembly (100) further comprises a liquid receptacle (108) arranged, in a first position in the housing (104), to receive condensate from a condensate inlet (110) and to be in fluid communication with the liquid inlet (116). The liquid receptacle (108) is movable to a second position removed from the housing (104), whereby to empty the liquid receptacle (108). The condensate pump assembly (100) further comprises selective release (112, 114) means operable by a hand of a user to release the liquid receptacle (108) for movement from the first position towards the second position.

TERMINAL UNIT AND METHOD FOR IMPROVED INDOOR COOLING

A terminal unit is provided for cooling a conditioned space. The terminal unit is provided conditioned air and augments cooling with a local heat exchanger. The terminal unit controls the flow of coolant through the heat exchanger. Latent cooling provided by the conditioned air is augmented by allowing moisture accumulation on the heat exchanger. The terminal unit lacks a drainage system so deleterious moisture accumulation (e.g., dripping) is avoided by monitoring moisture accumulation and controlling the terminal unit accordingly. If the moisture accumulation is below a threshold, the terminal unit is permitted to provide latent cooling locally. If the moisture accumulation is above a threshold, the terminal unit prevents further local latent cooling. Some sensor configurations allow for calculation of air flow rates, the latent cooling rate, and moisture accumulation. This information is used to achieve the desired room conditions more rapidly and precisely.

Humidifier arrangements and control systems

The electrical connections of a chamber or enclosure for a water tub can be protected through the use of spill element sensors. The spill element sensors can help to disable the delivery of power to the heater of a water tub in the event that the electrical connections become wet.
