AIR CONDITIONING REHEAT SYSTEMS AND METHODS THERETO
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for controlling an air conditioning system. The method of controlling the air conditioning system can include receiving air temperature data from an air temperature sensor and determining that the air conditioning system should operate in a reheat mode based on the air temperature being less than a threshold air temperature. The method can include outputting a control signal to a first electronic expansion valve to close and thereby prevent refrigerant to flow through an outdoor condenser coil. The method can also include outputting a control signal to a second electronic expansion valve to open and thereby permit refrigerant to flow through a reheat coil.
INCREASING A FLOW RATE OF OIL INTO A COMPRESSOR OF A REFRIGERATION ASSEMBLY
A method includes receiving, by a processing device and from a variable frequency drive coupled to one or more compressors, operation information of the one or more compressors. The method also includes comparing the operation information of the one or more compressors to an operation threshold and determining that the operation information satisfies the operation threshold. The method also includes changing, based on the determination that the operation information of the one or more compressors satisfies the operation threshold, an operation parameter of a component of the refrigeration system. Changing the operation parameter increases at least one of: (i) a velocity of a working fluid in a piping assembly fluidly coupled to the one or more compressors, or (ii) a flow rate of an oil in the piping assembly flowing into the one or more compressors.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HUMIDITY CONTROL IN AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are air conditioning systems including a refrigerant line configured to transport a refrigerant; a compressor in fluid communication with the suction line; and a controller in communication with a sensor configured to measure a characteristic of the refrigerant line. The compressor can be configured to move the refrigerant through the refrigerant line, and the refrigerant can have a first temperature at the outlet of the compressor. The controller can be configured to receive sensor data from the sensor indicating a current value associated with the characteristic of the refrigerant line; determine, based at least partially on the sensor data, that the characteristic of the refrigerant line is above a predetermined threshold; and output instructions for the compressor to perform one or more corrective actions.
On-line energy consumption optimization adaptive to environmental condition
An appliance includes an appliance housing, an interface adapted to receive power information, a plurality of sensors for sensing environmental conditions, a plurality of controls for controlling operations of the appliance, and an intelligent control. The intelligent control is disposed within the appliance housing and operatively connected to the interface and the plurality of sensors and adapted to dynamically select control values associated with the plurality of controls based on at least one of the power information, the environmental conditions, or a combination thereof to increase energy efficiency of the appliance.
Systems and methods for reducing frost accumulation on heat pump evaporator coils
The disclosed technology includes systems and methods of reducing frost accumulation on a heat pump evaporator coil. The disclosed technology can include a heat pump assembly having an evaporator coil, a fan configured to direct air across the evaporator coil, a temperature sensor, and a controller configured to energize the fan to direct air across the evaporator coil when the temperature of the evaporator coil is below a threshold temperature.
REFRIGERATOR WITH ANTI-CONDENSATION FEATURES
A method of controlling condensation on an appliance includes the steps of (1) providing a refrigerator having a refrigerant circuit with a heat loop, wherein the heat loop is configured to circulate heated refrigerant within a cabinet structure during a duty cycle of a compressor, and further wherein the refrigerator includes a storage compartment and an insulation space substantially surrounding the same; (2) running an insulation performance test, wherein a rate of temperature rise within the storage compartment is calculated during an off-duty cycle of the compressor; (3) sending the data to a controller for processing; (4) initiating the duty cycle of the compressor when the rate of temperature rise reaches a predetermined threshold rate; and (5) changing an operating parameter of the refrigerator to increase a time interval for which the duty cycle of the compressor is run.
Vector drive for vapor compression systems
A vector control system is used to control a vapor compression circuit. The vector control system may monitor the vapor compression circuit and adjust the speed of one or more motors to increase efficiency of the system by taking into account the torque forces placed on a compressor motor.
Refrigerant leak sensor power control systems and methods
A sensor control system includes: a refrigerant leak sensor configured to, when powered, measure an amount of a refrigerant present in air outside of a heat exchanger of a refrigeration system, where the heat exchanger is located within a building that is at least one of heated and cooled by the refrigeration system; and a power control module configured to one of: continuously power the refrigerant leak sensor; and disconnect the refrigerant leak sensor from power when a blower that moves air past the heat exchanger is on.
Recreational vehicle air conditioning system with load sharing
A recreational vehicle air conditioning system supports multiple recreational vehicle air conditioning units having closed air conditioning circuits and a controller that is electronically coupled to each of the recreational vehicle air conditioning units to control each of the closed air conditioning circuits to regulate an overall power consumption of the multiple recreational vehicle air conditioning units. A recreational vehicle air conditioning system may also support multiple recreational vehicle air conditioning units where a refrigerant line set is coupled between the recreational vehicle air conditioning units such that a compressor in one of the recreational vehicle air conditioning units is capable of supplying refrigerant to the evaporators of the multiple recreational vehicle air conditioning units, and such that valves coupled in series with each of the evaporators may be regulated to control cooling by each recreational vehicle air conditioning unit.
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
Disclosed is a CO.sub.2 based refrigeration system including a condenser for transferring heat from a CO.sub.2 refrigerant of the refrigeration system to an air stream. The system further includes a metering device downstream of the condenser and a bypass arrangement. The metering device is configured to create a pressure drop so that part of the refrigerant liquifies, when received in a supercritical state, from the condenser such that a liquid component and a flash gas component are generated. The bypass arrangement includes a valve and a bypass line to allow the refrigerant to bypass the metering device.
