The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator. The refrigerator includes an evaporator, a defrost heater, a temperature sensor to detect an ambient temperature of the evaporator, and controller to control the defrost heater, wherein, in response to a defrosting operation start time point arriving, the controller is configured to perform a defrost operation mode including a pre-defrost cooling mode, a heater operation mode, and post-defrost cooling mode, perform a pulse operation mode in which the defrost heater is repeatedly turned on and off based on the heater operation mode, and change a magnitude of cooling power supplied in the post-defrost cooling mode based on an ON period of the defrost heater or a temperature of a cooling compartment in the pulse operation mode. Accordingly, defrosting efficiency and power consumption may be improved, and cooling power after defrosting may be efficiently supplied.

The present invention relates to a refrigerator. A refrigerator according to an aspect includes a cabinet in which a storage compartment is formed; a first refrigerator door which is capable of opening and closing the storage compartment; second refrigerator door which is disposed along with the first refrigerator door in a lateral direction; and a door opening device which is capable of operating in order to open and close at least one of the first refrigerator door and the second refrigerator door, wherein the door opening device includes a motor for generating a driving force; a push rod which operates by receiving the driving force generating from the motor; a gear for transferring the driving force of the motor to the push rod.

An opening in a wall of the interior liner of the refrigerator defines a channel framing a removable filter cover that tends to be at or near flush with that wall. The filter is positioned behind the cover. The space between the wall opening and the cover functions to provide both air intake into the filter and access lighting around the filter cover.

A refrigerator includes a timer for measuring an interval of one hour after power is supplied to the refrigerator, a door opening/closing sensor for sensing opening and closing of a door, a storage unit for storing information whether door is opened in a sector defined as one hour by the timer and at least 7 sector units each having 24 consecutive sectors, and a control unit for predicting a refrigerator use pattern in 24 sectors by overlapping 7 sector units, performing a normal operation mode to maintain a storage compartment at a first desired temperature in a sector in which door opening is predicted, and performing a power-saving operation mode to maintain the storage compartment at a second desired temperature higher than the first desired temperature in a sector in which door opening is not predicted.

REFRIGERATION SYSTEM HAVING A VARIABLE SPEED COMPRESSOR
A two-stage cascade refrigeration system is provided having a first refrigeration stage and a second refrigeration stage. The first refrigeration stage defines a first fluid circuit for circulating a first refrigerant, and has a first compressor, a condenser, and a first expansion device. The second refrigeration stage defines a second fluid circuit for circulating a second refrigerant, with the second refrigeration stage having a second compressor that is a variable speed compressor, a second expansion device, and an evaporator. A heat exchanger is in fluid communication with the first and second fluid circuits to exchange heat between the first and second refrigerants. A controller stages operation of the first and second compressors and runs the second compressor at an initial speed less than a maximum speed initially when a staging protocol is performed during start up or re-starting of the refrigeration system.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an abnormal state diagnosis unit included in the refrigerator or the cloud server generates information on the abnormal state of the refrigerator based on similarity between stored first group of information and a normal pattern, and a cause diagnosis unit generates, when the abnormal state diagnosis determines that a state of the refrigerator is an abnormal stte, information on cause of the abnormal state based on similarity between stored second group of information and a defect pattern.

The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator and a control method therefor. A refrigerator may include: a cabinet; a drawer provided to move in and out of the lower storage space and opening and closing the lower storage space; a lifting unit provided inside the drawer and elevated up and down; an opening/closing motor providing power for opening and closing the drawer; a lifting motor connected to the lifting unit and providing power for elevating the lifting unit; and a controller to reopen the drawer when the closing of the drawer is detected while the lifting unit is being elevated or the elevation of the lifting unit is completed.

A system for a portable cooling device is disclosed herein. The portable cooling device comprises a housing and a door with a handle coupled to the housing for providing access to the interior of the housing. The door and housing are insulated. At least one fan is provided in the interior of housing. In an embodiment, a plurality of fans are configured on each surface defining the interior of the housing. A cooling medium source is in fluid communication with the housing. The cooling medium source is configured to release a cooling medium in the interior of the housing for cooling an edible item or beverage placed in the interior of the housing. The portable cooling device can be powered through solar means or through traditional electrical means. The power is necessary to operate the fans and the cooling medium source.
