SHAFT FURNACE CONDITION MONITORING
A shaft furnace, in particular a blast furnace, includes a metal jacket defining the furnace outer wall and a protective layer protecting the inner surface of the outer wall. At least one condition monitoring probe is arranged inside within the protective layer to monitor the latter. The condition monitoring probe is connected to a wireless module arranged outside the outer wall to transmit condition monitoring data. The wireless module is located inside a casing mounted to the outer surface of the metal jacket. The condition monitoring probe includes one or more conductive loops positioned at predetermined depths below the front face of the cooling plate body, or of the refractory lining, so that wear of the body, resp. refractory, can be detected by a change of an electrical characteristic of the loop(s) due to abrasion.
Furnace structural integrity monitoring systems and methods
Various systems and method for acoustic monitoring of smelting furnaces and similar devices are disclosed. Acoustic sensors (and optionally other sensors) are mounted to the furnace. Acoustic emission events generated in the furnace are analyzed to identify conditions that exceed one or more thresholds. The location of acoustic emissions may be identified and reported. Output signals may be generated in response to acoustic emissions. The location of acoustic emissions may be used to identify the location of potential failures in the furnace.
METHOD FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING FOR A REFRACTORY PART
A method for testing the internal structure of a refractory part, has the following steps: a) by a transmission antenna, sending at least one electromagnetic wave, termed a “pulse”, into the refractory part to be tested; b) by a reception antenna, receiving the pulse after reflection thereof by a reflecting zone of the refractory part; c) analyzing the time offset between the two preceding steps in order to deduce the position, in the refractory part, of the reflecting zone, the pulse having a duration less than or equal to 0.5 nanoseconds.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED COMPONENT THAT INDICATES WEAR AND SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
A three-dimensional printed metal component for a lubricated system is provided. The metal component includes a three-dimensional printed metal body formed of a plurality of metal layers of a first metal and having a contact surface configured to movingly contact another component of the lubricated system. The metal component further includes at least one first three-dimensional printed wear-identifying layer of a material different from the first metal embedded in the metal body at a predetermined depth, a predetermined distance from an outer surface portion of the contact surface. The predetermined distance defines a predetermined wear state of the contact surface associated with replacement of the metal component.
MATERIAL EROSION MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Disclosed is an improved system and method to evaluate the status of a material. The system and method are operative to identify flaws and measure the erosion profile and thickness of different materials, including refractory materials, using electromagnetic waves. The system is designed to reduce a plurality of reflections, associated with the propagation of electromagnetic waves launched into the material under evaluation, by a sufficient extent so as to enable detection of electromagnetic waves of interest reflected from remote discontinuities of the material. Furthermore, the system and method utilize a configuration and signal processing techniques that reduce clutter and enable the isolation of electromagnetic waves of interest. Moreover, the launcher is impedance matched to the material under evaluation, and the feeding mechanism is designed to mitigate multiple reflection effects to further suppress clutter.
BLAST FURNACE COOLING PLATE WITH INTEGRATED WEAR DETECTION SYSTEM
A cooling plate for a metallurgical furnace comprising a body (12) with a front face (18) and an opposite rear face (20), the body having at least one coolant channel (14) therein; the front face (18) being turned towards the furnace interior and preferably comprises alternating ribs (22) and grooves (24). The cooling plate includes wear detection means comprising: a plurality of closed pressure chambers (26, 28) distributed at different locations in said body, said pressure chambers being positioned at predetermined depths below the front face (18) of said body; and a pressure sensor (30) associated with each pressure chamber (26, 28) in order to detect a deviation from a reference pressure inside said pressure chamber when the latter becomes open due to wear out of said body.
Gas purging plug comprising wear indicators
A gas purging plug for blowing gas into a metallurgical vessel, having the form of an elongated body made of a first refractory material, contains a final visual wear indicator in the form of an elongated core extending from an inlet end to a distance, along a central longitudinal axis, less than the length of the elongated body. The final visual wear indicator is made of a second refractory material that differs in visual appearance from the first refractory material between 800 and 1500 degrees C. The plug also contains an intermediate visual wear indicator extending from the inlet end to a point between the end of the final visual wear indicator and the opposite end of the elongated body. The intermediate visual wear indicator is made of a third refractory material that differs in visual appearance from the first and second refractory materials between 800 and 1500 degrees C.
Fault diagnosis device based on common information and special information of running video information for electric-arc furnace and method thereof
A fault diagnosis method for an electrical fused magnesia furnace includes steps of: 1) arranging six cameras; 2) obtaining video information by the six cameras and sending the video information to a control center; then analyzing the video information by a chip of the control center; wherein a multi-view-based fault diagnosis method is used by the chip, comprising steps of: 2-1) comparing a difference between two consecutive frame histograms for shots segmentation; 2-2) computing a set of characteristic values for each shot obtained by the step 2-1), and then computing color, texture, and motion vector information; finally, evaluating shot importance via entropy; 2-3) clustering shots together by calculating similarity; 2-4) generating and optimizing a multi-view video summarization with a multi-objective optimization model; and 2-5) providing fault detection and diagnosis; and 3) displaying results of the fault detection and diagnosis on a host computer inter face of the control center.
