MODULAR COOLING TOWER WITH SCREWLESS FRP EXTERIOR
A factory-assembled or packaged cooling tower/cell having screwless (and boltless) exterior side panels is provided. The exterior panels are double-walled and are fastened to an outer support member, such as a corner end cap. Only fasteners extending through the outer support member and through only one of the walls of the panels are utilized. This eliminates the possibility of leaking fluid emanating from use of the fasteners.
Air-to-air heat exchanger bypass for wet cooling tower apparatus and method
A cooling tower having an evaporative media along with a liquid distribution system that distributes hot liquid over the evaporative media. The cooling tower includes a pair of heat exchanger modules that each have a first set of passageways in fluid communication with a first flow duct and a second set of passageways in fluid communication with a second flow duct. The heat exchanger module transfers heat from a first air stream into a second air stream. The cooling tower further includes a first bypass flow path that extends between the first heat exchanger module and the second heat exchanger module whereby a bypass door regulates airflow there through.

Chevron vane and moisture separator including same
Provided are a chevron vane that traps and removes droplets contained in steam and a moisture separator including the same. The chevron vane for trapping and removing droplets contained in steam includes a main frame group including multiple main frames arranged in a flow direction of steam and pivotably connected to each other, and a collection vane group mounted on the main frame group and including multiple collection vanes for trapping droplets contained in the steam.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COOLING BUILDINGS WITH LARGE HEAT LOADS USING DESICCANT CHILLERS
A system for providing cooling to a building includes a cooling tower for transferring waste heat from the building to the atmosphere and a liquid desiccant system for dehumidifying an air stream entering the cooling tower to increase cooling efficiency of the cooling tower. The liquid desiccant system includes a conditioner and a regenerator. The conditioner utilizes a liquid desiccant for dehumidifying the air stream entering the cooling tower. The regenerator is connected to the conditioner for receiving dilute liquid desiccant from the conditioner, concentrating the dilute liquid desiccant using waste heat from the building, and returning concentrated liquid desiccant to the conditioner.

Compact heat exchange system and method of cooling
A heat exchange system comprises vertical centermost plenum surrounded by the heat exchange coil and housed in a plurality of side panels and a base, the plurality of side panels have air intakes that communicate outside air into the cabinet above the heat exchange coil and sprayers, a stream of spray water and air is drawn downwardly over a heat exchange coil, a portion of the spray water is separated from the air by drawing the air inward to the plenum, the air is then drawn upwardly within the plenum to an exhaust external to the enclosure.
