Multistage, microchannel condensers with displaced manifolds for use in HVAC systems
In one instance, a multistage microchannel condenser is provided for use as an aspect of a heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The multistage microchannel condenser includes at least two pluralities of flat tubes having microchannels, each associated with a different refrigeration circuit, that are interspersed so that when only one refrigeration circuit is operational, the multistage microchannel condenser still does not have any substantial thermal dead spots. Manifolds are used on each end of the multistage microchannel condenser to fluidly couple members of the at least two pluralities of flat tubes such that the refrigerant in each refrigeration circuit remains separated while still using a majority of the area of the face of the multistage microchannel condenser. Other aspects are presented.
MULTI-CHANNEL HEAT EXCHANGER AND AIR CONDITIONING REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
A multi-channel heat exchanger includes a plurality of heat exchange tubes, each heat exchange tube includes first to fourth heat exchange tube portions which are distributed along a direction from an airflow inlet side to an airflow outlet side. Each heat exchange tube portion includes at least two flow channels. The heat exchange tube has a cross section defined in a thickness direction and a width direction of the heat exchange tubes, and the cross section includes a flow section. A total area of a flow section of the first heat exchange tube portion is A1, a total area of a flow section of the fourth heat exchange tube portion is A4, and the total area A1 of the flow section of the first heat exchange tube portion is 1.05-1.4 times of the total area A4 of the flow section of the fourth heat exchange tube portion.
HEAT EXCHANGER CORE
A heat exchanger core includes: a first passage row which is formed by a plurality of first passages; a plurality of first dividing walls separating the plurality of first passages from each other; a second passage row which is disposed adjacent to the first passage row and is formed by a plurality of second passages; a plurality of second dividing walls separating the plurality of second passages from each other; and a partition wall located between the first passage row and the second passage row, and separating the plurality of first passages and the plurality of second passages. (a) The partition wall has a greater section modulus in an orthogonal direction than either the first dividing wall or the second partition, or (b) a constituent material of the partition wall has a greater breaking strength than a constituent material of either the first dividing wall or the second dividing wall.
Cooling apparatus for cooling a fluid by means of surface water
A cooling apparatus for cooling a fluid by means of surface water, the cooling apparatus comprising more than one tubes for containing and transporting the fluid in its interior, the exterior of the tube being in operation at least partially submerged in the surface water so as to cool the tube to thereby also cool the fluid and hence different tube portions contain fluid at different temperatures. The cooling apparatus further comprises at least one light source for producing light that hinders fouling on the submerged exterior, wherein the at least one light source is arranged so that the intensity of the anti-fouling light, cast over the exterior of the tube portions whose exterior temperature or the temperature of the fluid they contain is below 80° C., is higher than the intensity of the anti-fouling light cast over the other tube portions. By this structure anti-fouling of the cooling apparatus can be assured in an effective manner.
Heat exchanger for a boiler, and heat-exchanger tube
A heat exchanger includes a plurality of tubes arranged in a juxtaposed configuration, and at least one first manifold member on the outside of the tubes. Each tube is wound to define a planar spiral, having a plurality of co-planar turns, and has an end portion, which extends starting from the inside of the corresponding planar spiral towards the outside thereof.
