A method and an apparatus for playing golf on a hard surface comprises a replaceable striking pad attached to a conventional golf club head by means of at least one attachment means, a spiked ball, a portable ball trap to trap the spiked ball and an optional remotely controlled vehicle to position the portable ball trap. The replaceable striking pad includes a small lip at a bottom end on a front face and a holding ledge having substantially curved edges extending away from the bottom end of the front face. The holding ledge is adaptable to wrap around a bottom sole of the golf club head. The portable ball trap includes a thin flat platform with tapered edges, a central threaded pole positioned on the thin flat platform and a circular frame having a plurality of hinged tabs threaded to the central threaded pole.

Examples of golf equipment covers and methods to manufacture golf equipment covers are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head cover may include a body portion having an opening to receive a golf club head. The golf club head cover may include a magnetic portion that allows the golf club head cover to be magnetically attached to a metallic structure, such as a steel golf cart basket. The golf club head cover may include a magnet identifier located on or near the magnetic portion. The magnet identifier may notify an individual as to a location of the magnetic portion to aid the individual when the attaching the magnetic portion to the metallic structure. The golf club head cover may include a golf club head identifier that remains visible when the magnetic portion is magnetically attached to the metallic structure. More particularly, a club cover having variable internal space is provided by being configured to be flexible in an entrance space part thereof, wherein when the club head is inserted into the club cover, the club head is in the club cover with the entrance space part of a body part being folded by a foldable part provided on a side surface of the body part to protect the club head, but when the club head is withdrawn, the foldable part is unfolded to expand the entrance space part, so that the club head is easily withdrawn and stored, which is easily manipulated by one hand.
