Vertical crossbow
A crossbow including a frame along which an arrow movement axis essentially passes, a first holder and a second holder attached to the frame on opposite sides from the arrow movement axis, a first cam and a second cam arranged on the first holder and the second holder, respectively, made rotatable, and located essentially in a horizontal plane, and at least one limb arranged essentially below the arrow movement axis and attached to the frame. The at least one limb having a free end and made bending essentially in a vertical plane when using the crossbow where the vertical plane being perpendicular to the horizontal plane. The crossbow further includes a bowstring connecting the first cam and the second cam and at least one cable connecting the first cam and the second cam to the free end of the at least one limb.
Projectile Launching System
The invention relates to an archery system that launches an arrow from a position that is perpendicular to a direction of flight for the arrow. After release, the arrow rotates to a position that is parallel to the direction of flight to the target.
Non-planar riser plates
Embodiments include a riser assembly for a bow. The riser assembly can include a first non-planar riser plate; and a second non-planar riser plate that is coupled to the first non-planar riser plate with one or more connectors. The first non-planar riser plate and the second non-planar riser plate define a gap there between. A width of the gap extending from the first non-planar riser plate to the second non-planar riser plate. The width of the gap varies in size such that the width of the gap at a central location of the gap is larger or smaller than the width of the gap at a location distal to the central location. Other embodiments are also included herein.
Long bow with tensioners
An archery bow for a bow and arrow system comprises a main bow with a tensioner assembly designed to increase the pullback capacity and/or arrow firing strength of the bow. The tensioner assembly includes a first tensioner comprising an elongated bendable member made of a hard material. A middle section of the first tensioner is coupled to a main bow inner projection, wherein at least portions of the upper and lower sections of the first tensioner are offset from an inner side of the main bow, and wherein bending of the main bow causes the first tensioner to bend.
Firing system for a crossbow
A firing system for a crossbow having an arrow rest extending along an arrow rest axis, the firing system having a right limb and a left limb, the right limb being pivotable about a right limb axis and the left limb being pivotable about a left limb axis, the firing system further including a right cam and a left cam, the right cam having a right bow string groove and being rotatable about a right cam axis, the left cam having a left bow string groove and being rotatable about a left cam axis, the firing system having a bow string extending between the right and left cams and extending within the right and left bow string grooves, the bow string positionable between an un-cocked condition and a cocked or full draw condition wherein movement of the bow string from the un-cocked condition toward the cocked condition moves the right and left cams toward each other and pivots the right and left limbs about the right and left limbs axes respectively, the firing system further including a power assembly having a power cable and a spring assembly, the power cable having a forward end operably joined to the right and left limbs and a rear end operably joined to the spring assembly, the spring assembly having a power spring extending along a power spring axis between a first spring end and a second spring end and having a central spring opening, the power spring being below the arrow rest, the power cable extending through the central spring opening from the first spring end toward the second spring end, the rear end of the power cable being operably joined relative to the second spring end of the power spring, moving the bow string from the un-cocked condition to the cocked condition causing the right and left limbs to the pull forward end of the power cable forwardly wherein the operable engagement with the second spring end compressing the power spring by pulling the second spring end toward the first spring end to produce the shooting force to propel the archery arrow.
Projectile launching system
A device for launching a projectile along an intended flight trajectory includes a launching mechanism with a handle. A projectile having a longitudinal axis is disposed in the launching cord in a launch position prior to launch such that the projectile's longitudinal axis is perpendicular to a plane in which the launching cord is disposed. As the projectile is launched by the launching mechanism, the projectile rotates such that the projectile's longitudinal axis is parallel to the plane in which the launching cord was disposed.
Double helix anti-phased archery limb
A limb for an archery bow includes a first member in the form of a helix and a second member in the form of a helix. The bow includes a riser and spaced cams, wheels or limb tips carrying a bow string. The first and second members extend between the riser and a cam, wheel or limb tip.
SUPER COMPACT ARCHERY BOW TECHNOLOGY
The crossbow includes a frame, a first limb and a second limb connected to the frame, a first cam and a second cam mounted on opposite sides of an axis of arrow travel, a string connecting the first cam and the second cam, a first cable connecting the first cam and the first limb, and a second cable connecting the second cam and the second limb. The first cam and the second cam are mounted on a holder of the first cam and a holder of the second cam. The first cam is arranged entirely between the axis of arrow travel and a loose end of the first limb. The second cam is arranged entirely between the axis of arrow travel and a loose end of the second limb. The crossbow reduces overall dimensions of an arrow throwing device while maintaining arrow speed by changing a traditional position of cams.
Tension management system and methods for torsion driven, counteracting block and tackle pulley type elastic energy storage and deployment systems
A tension management system employs moveable anchors, tension pins, ports and tuning string within torsion spring and cam elastic energy storage and deployment counteracting block and tackle systems. In conjunction with prescribed methods, launching cords and cables can be installed and replaced in field conditions, with precise tension for dynamic balance, without the need for bulky and expensive external presses.
Adjustable archery training bow
An adjustable archery training bow assembly includes a single resistance element and an adjustment mechanism that can be actuated by a user to vary the tension level in the resistance element for training purposes. The training bow also includes an integrated laser sight that allows the user to precisely aim at a target. The adjustable archery training bow is used to enhance the user's skills, such as his/her strength, stability and accuracy in delivering an arrow fired from a real, non-training bow to the target.
