BOLT ACTION FIREARM HAVING AN EXTRACTOR AND A PROPELLANT CHARGE CASE ADAPTED FOR EXTRACTION, AND METHOD OF EXTRACTING
A propellant charge used in a muzzleloading bolt action firearm having a cylindrical casing body for insertion within a breech end of a barrel. The casing body enclosing a propellant charge of predetermined amount, and having a base at the back end with a rim radially extending outwards with a forward surface facing the cylindrical body forward end and mounted flush with the barrel breech end upon insertion. A slot is formed proximate the rim to receive an extension or protrusion of an extractor for removal after firing when the bolt is moved away from the barrel.

Open-breach firearm action with metallic insert
A multi-piece action for a single-shot firearm. The action comprises an action body, an action liner, and a breech plug. The action body is configured to accept a firearm bolt. The action body is further configured to accept an action liner and hold that action liner in place. The action liner is configured to accept a barrel, preferably through a series of threads. The action liner is open at both ends and is configured to accept a breech plug.

Loading device and method
A load carrier for a muzzleloader having a muzzle, comprising a first assembly component and a second assembly component, the first assembly component comprising a tubular open-ended charge receiving body configured to receive a charge though an open end section of the charge receiving body with the second assembly component comprising a tubular delivery body comprising a delivery end section and a connector end section, the delivery end section having an external diameter so as to be insertable into the muzzle and a removeable cap engageable with the delivery end section. The connector end section of the second assembly component may be engageable with the open end section of the charge receiving body of the first assembly component. Insertion of at least a portion of the delivery end section into the muzzle during pouring facilitates consistent and speedy loading. The disclosure also provides associated methods.
Muzzleloader power cell with primer
Muzzleloader systems including a pre-packaged propellant charge with a primer and receptacle. The muzzleloader system may include a propellant containment vessel separate from the primer and the projectile and that doesn't contact with the projectile until assembly. The muzzleloader may be rear loading, with a constriction portion forward of the breech chamber. The propellant containment vessel may include a body portion having a forward opening, with a propellant charge disposed therein and a cap portion that is crimp rolled within the mouth of the vessel to seal the forward opening. The closed end of the propellant containment vessel may define a primer receptacle configured to receive the primer. The receptacle may define a depth that is less than the primer height so that, when inserted into the receptacle, the primer extends rearwardly beyond the containment vessel. The muzzleloader system may be configured to fire only specifically configured propellant containment vessels.

Rifles and muzzle loading rifles receiving propellant charges in break open and bolt action configurations, and barrel extensions therefor
A break open rifle and bolt action rifle having a barrel extension with a breech end for receiving a propellant charge, a muzzle end with an extended attachment structure for receiving a complementary attachment structure of a barrel, and a chamber disposed within and through the barrel extension having a first diameter at a first end and a narrowing portion adjacent a second end opposite the first end, the narrowing portion having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, wherein the first diameter of the chamber is sized to receive the propellant charge therein, and the second diameter of the narrowing portion is sized to prevent the propellant charge from being further inserted past the narrowing portion, and to prevent a projectile from being inserted through the chamber from the barrel muzzle end. A bolt action configuration having dual diameter non-rotating bolt with an extractor and ejector mechanism for removing a propellant charge.
Preloaded sabot system
A sabot having an extended casing for containing propellant charge and a slotted top portion for securing a projectile. The propellant charge is ignited by gases that enter the lower portion of the sabot from a puncture developed by the mating of the sabot against a breech plug. The breech plug has a piercing component in the form of a sharpened forward edge to initiate puncture of the breech end of the sabot.
