A Sports Base body (base, pitcher's mound, home plate) having a waterproof utilizing surface and a non-utilizing surface, and a waterproof light source which includes a plurality of LEDs embedded in the non-utilizing surface of the Sports Base body for adding illuminating functions, colors, and effects to the Sports Base body. The light source is securely attached and can be disassembled simply without compromising Sports Base body.

An athletic speed and time measurement device, including a batter/runner, a baseball, a baseball bat, a plurality of baseball bases, wherein each of the plurality of baseball bases includes a batter/runner contact detection device, a baseball/baseball bat impact detecting device located on the baseball bat, or adjacent to (or attached to) the batter/runner, wherein the baseball/baseball bat impact detector detects an impact of the baseball with the baseball bat as the batter/runner swings the bat and contacts the baseball bat with the baseball, and a batter/runner timing device, wherein the batter/runner timing device determines an amount of time it takes for the batter/runner to run from a first of the plurality of baseball bases to a second of the plurality of baseball bases and displays the amount of time it takes for the batter/runner to run from a first of the plurality of baseball bases to a second of the plurality of baseball bases.

Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, a smart base for a baseball system or a softball system comprises a sensor to detect a first time at which a runner has touched the smart base, a radio-frequency (RF) receiver to receive a signal from a smart baseball that indicates a second time at which the smart baseball was caught, timing circuitry to detect if the second time occurs before or after the first time; and indicator circuitry to indicate a force out if the second time occurs before the first time.

A sports pitching and hitting training apparatus generally including a vertical pole, a base affixed to an end of the vertical pole, and first and second horizontal poles, the first and second horizontal poles being removably affixed to the vertical pole. A swing training apparatus for baseball or softball that suspends or propels a tethered ball to be hit by a batter. A sports practicing system includes: a lever arm including an aperture; at least one ball secured to the lever arm; a pivot about which the lever arm rotates; an upper member to which the pivot is connected, the upper member including first and second ends; a base for placement on a ground, the base supporting the upper member; and an elastic strap stretched from the first end of the upper member to the second end of the upper member, an inner portion of the strap intersecting the pivot so the strap deflects the lever arm and the ball when the lever arm rotates about the pivot due to the ball being struck.

An apparatus for a baseball diamond layout is provided. The apparatus includes a pentagonal home plate having a first side edge, a second side edge, and a front edge. The home plate includes a measuring tapes disposed on each of the first side edge, the second side edge, and the front edge. A first base, a second base, a third base, and a rubber are operationally connected to the measuring tapes on the home plate. The measuring tape located on the front edge includes an indicator associated with a predetermined placement of the pitching rubber when the measuring tape is extended between the home plate and the second base. The measuring tape located on the first side edge and the second side edge include an indicator associated with a predetermined placement of the first base and the third base when the measuring tape is extended from the home plate.

An anchor includes a frame assembly and a removable cover plug. The frame assembly includes an access frame having a bottom and a wall defining an upper opening and a cavity therein, a first flexible seal extends above the upper opening of the wall, and at least one vertical member is in communication with the cavity of the access frame. The plug is operable for covering opening in the access frame. The plug includes a platform for supporting synthetic turf on the platform. When the plug is removed, at least one stanchion of a base, a home plate, a double base, or a pitcher's rubber is engageable with the vertical member.
