WATER PENETRATING DART
A water penetrating blowgun dart is provided. The blowgun dart has a funnel removably attached to a tail end of the dart shaft so that upon contact with a water surface, the funnel moves from an engaged configuration to a disengaged configuration. The tail end may provide a slot for snugly receiving an eye, wherein the tail end and the eye have cooperating grooves so that when in the engaged configuration, the eye and tail end are secured with a filament that slightly protrudes from the flush outer surface of the shaft and eye. The protruding filament frictionally engages the funnel in the engaged configuration so that the funnel remains engaged with the shaft prior to hitting the water's surface.
Shafted projectiles having a head
Mechanically attachable fletching is disclosed herein for a projectile having a shaft having an exterior surface. The mechanically attachable fletching includes at least one fin, a connection section bordering the at least one fin, and at least one mechanical fastener for attaching the fletching to the exterior surface of the shaft via the connection section. Also disclosed herein are methods for mechanically attaching fletching to the shaft of the projectile. Also disclosed herein are illuminated projectiles. Also described herein is a projectile having a shaft, a projectile head, and at least one fin. The projectile head preferably has a plurality of layers, the head end preferably being associated with the projectile head. Also described herein is a projectile that includes a shaft, a suction head, an outer head casing, and at least one fin. The suction head is preferably associated with the head end. The at least one launcher engager is preferably associated with the suction head. Two halves of the outer head casing preferably sandwich the suction head and the head end.
Sporting apparatus
A dart point, the dart point having a distal end, a middle portion and a proximal end; wherein: the distal end is tapered to a point; the middle portion is substantially cylindrical; and the proximal end comprises a generally incompressible tapered retaining portion having a substantially continuous tapered retaining surface, being generally frusto-conical, wherein the taper becomes narrower in the direction passing from the distal end to the proximal end of the dart point.
SCENT EMITTING DART
A scent emitting dart for dispersing an olfactant in the target area without having to physically enter the target area includes an elongated, textured shaft member that has a proximal end and a distal end, a tip member which includes a weighted portion and a tip portion integral with the distal end, and a scent carrying fletching integral having a plurality of absorbent vanes adjacent to the proximal end. The absorbent vanes both extend outwardly from the circumference of the shaft member to provide aerodynamic stabilization and also extend behind the shaft member to both increase the olfactant absorption capacity of the fletching and provide an accessible point of concentration for applied olfactant. In this regard, as the olfactant is emitted from the fletching, a hunted animal can be drawn thereto.
High performance foam dart having ridges
A toy dart having an elongate dart body of a foam material in a substantially cylindrical shape extending from a head end to a tail end in a first, longitudinal direction, an outer surface of the substantially cylindrical shape having a first ridge proximate the head end; a second ridge proximate the tail end; and one or more recessed areas disposed between the first ridge and the second ridge, where the elongate dart body has a first outer diameter at the first ridge and the second ridge that is larger than a second outer diameter at the one or more recessed areas; and a deformable dart cap affixed to the head end of the elongate dart body.
DART WITH CONFIGURATION
A dart with novel configuration, including a dart body housing, dart tip connected to front end of dart body, and dart flight at tail end of dart body, wherein dart body housing is a sleeve-type structure and includes dart body at front end and dart shaft at tail end, dart body and shaft are an integrally formed structure, a plurality of gas vents are on dart body, a plurality of circular grooves are on outer surface at tail end of dart shaft from outside to inside, end at tail end thereof is in camber shape, and cross slot is designed on top end of cambered surface; dart tip includes a tip body and tungsten steel inner core connected to tip body, and is integrally mounted in sleeve of dart body housing via tungsten steel inner core; and dart flight is disposed at tail end of dart shaft.
Dart
A dart may comprise—in order from the front thereof—a point, a barrel, a shaft, and a flight. The flight may comprise a plurality of fins. The fins may comprise mesh-like reinforcing ribs that protrude from surfaces thereof. The fins may further comprise, at peripheries thereof, fin rims formed so as to be of increased thickness. Reinforcing ribs may be formed over the approximate entireties of the fins. The shaft may comprise an insertion portion at the back end thereof. The flight may comprise a central axial hole having an opening at the front end thereof. The shaft may be removably installable with respect to the flight by virtue of a cap-like arrangement by which the insertion portion is inserted within, and is coupled and secured to, the central axial hole. The central axial hole may be formed from the front end of the flight to the back end thereof.
Foam dart having a safety cap
A toy dart includes a deformable cap that safely impacts a target. The cap includes two layers of openings that provide spaces that allow the cap to deform. The lower layer, having two openings, is supported by exterior posts and an interior wall between the two openings. The upper layer, having two openings, is supported by exterior posts and an interior wall that is laterally offset from the interior wall of the lower layer. The upper and lower layers are separated vertically by a substantially flat divider. The upper layer is more rigid than the lower layer such that the lower layer of the cap deforms more than the upper layer of the cap upon initial impact with the target.
Toy projectile launcher and method of using same
A toy launcher for launching projectiles that includes a drum having a substantially circular shape and comprising a ring of projectile holders to hold projectiles for launching, the ring of projectile holders including a ring of inner support portions located substantially at a first radius from a center of the drum, each inner support portion adapted to support at least a portion of a projectile on an inner concentric ring of projectiles, and a ring of outer support portions located substantially at a second radius from the center of the drum, each outer support portion adapted to support at least a portion of a projectile on an outer concentric ring of projectiles, wherein the second radius is different than the first radius, and wherein the drum includes a ring of front openings and a ring of rear openings that are aligned with at least the inner concentric ring of projectiles.
