Immersible, adjustable, surface compliant device and methods of use
The present invention relates to an immersible, adjustable, surface compliant device and methods of using it an environment with variable, induced current flows for purposes of exercise, rehabilitation, or pure fun. The adjustable, immersible, surface compliant device can be used in pools, water tanks, or any body of water having a location where the device could be attached. The adjustable, immersible, surface compliant device and methods of using it are ideal for rehabilitating an injury, assisting aging bodies in performing exercises, and allowing the permanently injured to achieve movement and some degrees of physical autonomy despite being injured. In some embodiments, I disclose a trampoline-like device, having adjustable surface compliance, to be used in a pool or water tank having a current flow, wherein the angle of the trampoline is horizontally adjustable.
Wave making apparatus
A wave making apparatus for use with a wave pool having water is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wave making chamber having an interior and a plurality of chamber walls. The chamber also has a passageway connecting the interior to the wave pool and constructed to allow water to flow there-between. A water vane is disposed of in or adjacent to the passageway. The wave vane includes at least one smooth and curved water vane wall, which, in combination with the plurality of chamber walls, creates at least two conduit paths for the water flowing between the interior and the wave pool. The conduit paths have two ends, and the water enters one end in a first direction and exits the second end in a second direction.
ADJUSTABLE HANGING ASSEMBLY FOR FLOW GENERATING DEVICE
A hanging assembly is disclosed for use with a flow generating device that produces a current in a pool. The hanging assembly includes a back supporting plate coupled to a side supporting plate where a plate angle is formed between the back supporting plate and the side supporting plate. The plate angle is adjustable such that a current angle of the current relative to a sidewall of the pool can be varied based on user preferences.
FLUID CURRENT PRODUCING APPARATUS ASSEMBLY
A fluid current producing apparatus assembly for use in a body of water includes at least one receptacle, current producing apparatus and inflation and deflation apparatus. Each receptacle includes a body forming at least one enclosed inside space which further contains at least one independently inflatable and deflatable compartment therein for receipt of a fluid to inflate at least a portion of the receptacle. Each receptacle includes a body having an inner surface, outer surface and at least one internal chamber which is inflated by the inflation and deflation apparatus which modifies the outward shape of receptacle. When the fluid is forced by apparatus over the outside surface of each receptacle or chamber from a front of the apparatus or away from the apparatus, and fluid is drawn in predominantly from the sides of the receptacles back to the apparatus in a circuit of flow. A method is also included.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WATER CONTROL
Aspects of the present disclosure involve hydraulic systems and methods for altering a flow of a body of water, such as a river, channel, and/or other flowing or uncontained bodies of water. In one aspect, a hydraulic system provides a velocity barrier for the impedance of aquatic organism migration. More particularly, the velocity barrier may be adapted based on the swimming capabilities of one or more aquatic organisms to impede migration. The aquatic organism may be one or more species of fish, such as species sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus). The example implementations shown and described herein reference the restriction of the sea lamprey. However, it will be appreciated that other aquatic organisms could be restricted by the presently disclosed technology, for example, with different hydraulic targets depending on swimming capabilities.
JET FOR SWIM-IN-PLACE SPA
There is provided a swim-in-place spa, comprising a basin for containing water, a circulation subsystem having a primary conduit extending from an inlet in the basin, a pump fluidly connected to the primary conduit to pump water from the inlet, a swim-in-place jet affixed to the basin, and a secondary conduit extending from the pump to the swim-in-place jet, in operation the pump inducing a flow of water toward the swim-in-place jet. The swim-in-place jet has a nozzle and a diffuser downstream of the nozzle relative to the flow of water, a nozzle outlet smaller than a diffuser inlet, the nozzle outlet and the diffuser inlet disposed in a spaced-apart relationship defining a gap for receiving a flow of entrained water. The circulation subsystem is configured for creating a water jet matching a cross-section of a swimmer.

Method for providing swim-in-place functionality in a bathing unit system and control system implementing same
A method and a system are described for operating a bathing unit system to provide swim-in-place functionality to a swimmer. A communication link is established between the bathing unit system and an auxiliary device worn by or implanted in the body of the swimmer. A signal conveying information associated with the swimmer and originating from the auxiliary device is received. Control signals for controlling operational settings associated with a propulsion assembly of the bathing unit system are derived at least in part by processing the information conveyed by the signal originating from the auxiliary device. The control signals are then released to control the operational settings associated with the propulsion assembly. In another aspect, a graphic display is provided presenting the user with a customized set of selectable swim-in-place configurations derived at least in part by processing a signal originating from an auxiliary device worn by or implanted in the body of the swimmer.
Portable swim lane
A swim lane apparatus having one or more attachment or tethering devices. The one or more attachment or tethering devices are configured to couple or affix to a foundation of the pool. The swim lane apparatus has a first sidewall. The first sidewall is coupled to the one or more attachment or tethering devices. The first sidewall is configured to form a channel and direct a flow of water out of the channel when the flow of water enters the channel.
