The invention is directed to improve the body alignment in the water of a swimmer. The head band sits on the back of the head allowing the rod to extend down the back to between the shoulder blades. This limits two motions that are undesirable for efficient swimming of the crawl stroke: inappropriate lifting of the head from the neck and over rotating the neck. This lowered neck position and limited neck rotation forces the swimmer to rotate more from the torso in order to clear the water with their mouth and breath and keep the swimmer in an improved body position.

The tether assembly can include a tether portion releasably coupled to and extending away from the aquatic learning station and a belt portion connected to the tether portion and wearable by a person learning to float.

Swim training apparatus for bilateral undulation power development

A swim training apparatus for use as a monofin for bilateral undulation power development. The apparatus includes a flexible, elongated member having a series of securing members, such as through-holes extending from the top surface of the elongated member through to its bottom surface, and fasteners configured and disposed to attach to the securing member, such as straps that can extend through the through-holes, to fasten the apparatus to a user's legs. A weight can be attached using similar attachments and fasteners to the apparatus to increase undulation during use.

Flotation device

A flotation device, particularly suitable for use as a pull buoy or a kickboard is described. The flotation device can include a flotation element and a stem element, which extends from an inner surface of the flotation element. A holding mechanism can be located adjacent to the second end of the stem element. The stem element and holding mechanism can be configured to enable a user to hold onto the flotation device at a point below the surface of the water for use as a kickboard or enable a user to secure the stem element of the flotation device between his/her legs for use as a pull buoy. An embodiment of the stem element can be tapered, which can create forces that assist the user in using the flotation device as either a pull buoy or a kickboard.

The flotation device can include a flotation element and a stem element, which extends from an inner surface of the flotation element. The kickboard may include one or more surface elements associated with at least one of the upper and lower surfaces. The one or more surface elements may be arranged to define a flotation characteristic of the kickboard. The one or more surface elements may include at least one of a channel defined in at least the upper surface, a plurality of grooves defined in at least the lower surface, and one or more ailerons coupled to the kickboard.

Ergonomic Kickboard

A kickboard has a non-planar shape and comprises a primary panel with opposite support members laterally outside from the primary panel with a transitional section therebetween. The support members are at a rear longitudinal position and additional support shoulders may extend from a forward end of the primary panel along each lateral side to a respective support member. The rearward end defines an opening with a cavity formed between the primary panel, transitional sections, support shoulders and support members. In use, the kickboard provides substantially improved ergonomics and allows a swimmer to support her elbows on the support members with a portion of her forearms on the support shoulders, with arms in a bent position below the surface of the water. The configuration improves comfort while maintaining a favorable hydrodynamic swimming position and reducing shoulder stress.

Resistance kickboard attachment

A resistance kickboard attachment is disclosed. When attached to a kickboard, the resistance kickboard attachment adds resistance while swimming with the kickboard. The resistance kickboard attachment includes a resistance pocket, with variable resistance provided by an adjustment of a rear aperture of the resistance pocket. The resistance kickboard attachment attaches to the kickboard with a transverse and a longitudinal strap. The transverse strap includes an adjustment on either side of the longitudinal strap which allows the longitudinal strap to be centered on the kickboard.
