Moving wall positive displacement turbine system
A moving wall positive displacement turbine system, or moving wall engine, utilizes the relative rotation of a ring, a central body, and a housing with respect to each other to generate power, where the ring is concentrically positioned in a channel between the central body and the housing. The housing and central body remain stationary while the ring rotates within the channel. The channel has low friction walls on either side to reduce friction between rotating components. The ring has a series of vanes passing through it and pivotally attached on each side to the low friction walls in the housing to compress an air-fuel mixture prior to combustion. The system is able to compress and combust an air-fuel mixture to generate direct rotational energy.
Hydraulic machine
A hydraulic device can include two or more rings, a rotor having a plurality of vanes, and an adjuster. The two or more rings can be rotatably mounted within the hydraulic device and arranged adjacent one another configured for relative rotation with respect to one another. The rotor can be disposed for rotation about an axis within the two or more rings and can have a plurality of circumferentially spaced slots, each slot having at least one of the plurality of vanes located therein. The plurality of vanes can be configured to be movable between a retracted position and an extended position where the plurality of vanes work a hydraulic fluid introduced adjacent to the rotor. The adjuster can be configured to translate linearly to rotatably position the two or more rings relative to one another to increase or decrease a displacement of the hydraulic fluid between the rotor and the two or more rings.
Hybrid elastomer/metal on metal motor
A hybrid elastomer/metal on metal motor for a helical gear device includes a rotor and stator comprising a hydraulic motor that produces work when a working fluid is pumped therethrough. The improvement involves the stator being, for part of its length, a conventional or even wall stator, using an elastomer to form a seal against the moving rotor. The stator's remaining length comprises a profiled rigid surface that forms a seal directly with the moving rotor. This gives the motor the high efficiency of the elastomer sealing against the rotor, and simultaneously provides a backup of the stator's rigid section allowing continued motor operation at reduced efficiency, if the elastomer part failed in service. The invention also includes combinations of a regular disk stack with a rubber lining, a rigid material disk stack (or unitized element) and a circular rigid sleeve which react to rotor sideloading while permitting proper rotor orbiting.
Stator compound having an NBIR terpolymer elastomeric base and stators and downhole motors using the same
A stator compound including an acrylonitrile butadiene isoprene rubber (NBIR) terpolymer elastomeric base.
ROTARY PISTON AND CYLINDER DEVICE
A rotary piston and cylinder device (1) comprising: a rotor (2), comprising a rotor surface (2a), a piston (5) which extends from the rotor surface, a stator (4), a rotatable shutter (3), the rotor surface and the stator together defining an annular chamber, and the piston arranged to rotate, through the annular chamber, wherein when the chamber is viewed in axial cross-section, substantially a single surface of the stator in part defines the chamber (100).
ROTARY ENERGY CONVERTER WITH RETRACTABLE BARRIER
A rotary internal combustion engine includes outer and inner housings defining an enclosure therebetween, and first and second side housings disposed on opposite sides of the outer housing. The inner housing is rotatable relative to the outer housing, at least one retractable barrier and at least one fixed barrier. The at least one retractable barrier and the at least one fixed barrier are disposed in the enclosure so as to divide the enclosure into a combustion chamber and an exhaust chamber. The at least one retractable barrier is mounted along a pivot axis and is pivotable between an extended position and a retracted position. An intake port, exhaust port, and ignition source are also provided. An exhaust duct extends from within the enclosure to outside the outer housing in a direction tangent to flow in the enclosure.
Rotary pump having a casing being formed with a communicating hole communicating a space that is between the side plate and the wall surface of the driving machine
It is intended to provide a vacuum pump so that without upsizing the vacuum pump, noise and vibration are reduced, heat dissipation property is secured, and the casing is downsized. Therefore, at least one turning part is provided in an exhausting path formed in a casing body. The casing body is formed of a material whose thermal conductivity is higher than that of a rotor and vanes, and a cylinder part where the vanes slide is press fitted in the casing body.
Rotary energy converter with retractable barrier
A rotary internal combustion engine includes outer and inner housings defining an enclosure therebetween, and first and second side housings disposed on opposite sides of the outer housing. The inner housing is rotatable relative to the outer housing and at least two barriers divide the enclosure into a combustion chamber and an exhaust chamber. At least one barrier is rotatable relative to at least one other barrier and at least one barrier comprises a retractable barrier mounted along a pivot axis and is pivotable between an extended position and a retracted position. An intake port, exhaust port, and ignition source are also provided. The rotary internal combustion engine further includes a cylindrical stationary shaft disposed inside the inner housing and oriented substantially coaxially with the inner housing. The stationary shaft has an intake opening configured to be intermittently fluidly connected with the intake port.
Camshaft adjuster
A hydraulic camshaft adjuster of the vane cell type, including a rotor and a stator and including a cover having fastening holes extending all the way through for accommodating fasteners. Via the fasteners the cover is fastened at an end face to the stator. The cover has a locking hole, into which a locking pin accommodated in the rotor can be displaced in an axial direction in order to lock the rotor in relation to the stator. The position of the locking pin in the rotor is pivoted about the axis of rotation by an angle in relation to a fastener when the camshaft adjuster is used as an exhaust adjuster, the position of the locking pin in the rotor is pivoted about the axis of rotation by an angle in relation to a fastener when the camshaft adjuster is used as an intake adjuster, and the position of the locking hole in the cover is pivoted about the axis of rotation by an angle in relation to the position of a fastening hole, wherein the rotor and the stator are coordinated with each other in such a way that the angles , , and are equal in magnitude and the pivoting directions of the angle and are oppositely directed.
