Internal combustion engine
An internal combustion rotary engine includes an air passage configured to allow cool air to flow through the rotor as the rotor moves relative to the housing within the engine. Some embodiments include a removable fuel cartridge.
ROTARY INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH UNEQUAL VOLUMETRIC RATIOS
A rotary internal combustion engine including a rotor assembly where at least a first and a second of the combustion chambers have unequal theoretical volumetric ratios. Also, a rotary internal combustion engine including first and second rotor assemblies where at least one of the combustion chambers of the first rotor assembly and at least one of the combustion chambers of the second rotor assembly have unequal effective volumetric compression ratios and/or unequal effective volumetric expansion ratios.
Stator compound having an NBIR terpolymer elastomeric base and stators and downhole motors using the same
A stator compound including an acrylonitrile butadiene isoprene rubber (NBIR) terpolymer elastomeric base.
Positive displacement motor with radially constrained rotor catch
Techniques relate to a moving cavity motor or pump, such as a mud motor, including a rotor, a stator, and one or more apparatus for constraining (i.e., controlling or limiting) the movement of the rotor relative to the stator, where the apparatus for constraining is operable with the rotor catch. The motor may include a top sub, power section having a progressive cavity motor with a stator and rotor, a rotor catch, and an apparatus between a proximal and distal end of the rotor catch shaft. The apparatus may constrain the radial and/or tangential movement of the rotor catch shaft and the rotor.
SCROLL COMPRESSOR
A scroll compressor is provided which includes: a revolving scroll, a fixed scroll, an autorotation preventing mechanism, a frame, a crank shaft provided with an eccentric pin portion which is eccentric with respect to an axis, the crank shaft being provided with a flange portion at a lower portion of the eccentric pin portion, the flange portion being larger than the diameter of the eccentric pin portion, a balance weight mounted on the flange portion, a sealing member performing sealing between the revolving scroll and the flange portion, and a thrust bearing arranged between the frame and the flange portion. The scroll compressor reduces the amount of oil flowing into a back pressure chamber, thereby improving the performance of the scroll compressor.
PROGRESSING CAVITY DEVICE WITH CUTTER DISKS
A stator for a helical gear device includes a first section having first helically convoluted chamber with a set of radially inwardly extending lobes and a second section adjacent to the first section. The second section includes a stack of cutter disks. Each cutter disk includes a front surface, a rear surface, an interior surface defining a central opening extending from the front surface to the rear surface, a forward cutting edge, and a rearward cutting edge. The interior surface forms a same number of lobes for the central opening as the set of radially inwardly extending lobes in the first section. Each cutter disk is aligned along a common centerline, and each cutter disk is rotated slightly relative to each other to form a second helically convoluted chamber with a same pitch as the first helically convoluted chamber. The second helically convoluted chamber exposes, to materials passing through, portions of the forward cutting edge or the rearward cutting edge of each cutter disk.
Actuator of a rotary positive displacement machine
Disclosed are rotary positive displacement machines capable of acting as an engine and as a pump, serving to improve the profile of working members of helical rotary engines, compressors and pumps. An actuator is comprised of a pair of rotors having engaged helical teeth. The rotors are disposed in chambers which encircle both. The working areas of the profiles of the teeth in an engaged pair are delineated in cross-section by portions of a cycloidal curve for one rotor and by arcs of circumferences which are eccentrically offset from the axis of the second rotor. Such a profile of teeth produces an eccentrically cycloidal engagement capable to work efficiently at very high rotor rotation speeds. The presence of power contact and low sensitivity to gearwheel skews allow for working with nonhomogeneous media, including those containing solid inclusions.
HYDRAULIC MACHINE
A hydraulic device can include two or more rings, a rotor having a plurality of vanes, and an adjuster. The two or more rings can be rotatably mounted within the hydraulic device and arranged adjacent one another configured for relative rotation with respect to one another. The rotor can be disposed for rotation about an axis within the two or more rings and can have a plurality of circumferentially spaced slots, each slot having at least one of the plurality of vanes located therein. The plurality of vanes can be configured to be movable between a retracted position and an extended position where the plurality of vanes work a hydraulic fluid introduced adjacent to the rotor. The adjuster can be configured to translate linearly to rotatably position the two or more rings relative to one another to increase or decrease a displacement of the hydraulic fluid between the rotor and the two or more rings.
Rotary machine
The disclosure provides rotary machines that include, in one embodiment, a rotatable shaft defining a central axis A, the shaft having a first end and a second end. The shaft can have an elongate first island disposed thereon. The first island can have a body with a volume generally defined between front and rear surfaces that are spaced apart. The front and rear surfaces can lie in a plane parallel to a radial axis R. The perimeters of the front and rear surfaces can define a curved perimeter surface therebetween. The disclosure further provides embodiments having stationary islands and casings that rotate about the island.

A stator compound including an acrylonitrile butadiene isoprene rubber (NBIR) terpolymer elastomeric base.
