CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENT, GAS TURBINE SEAL ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF FORMING CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENT
A gas turbine seal assembly includes a gas turbine component and a gas turbine seal component contacting the gas turbine component to form a seal between the two components. The gas turbine seal component includes ceramic matrix composite plies bonded together to form the ceramic matrix composite component. A bond-inhibiting coating on a non-bonding portion of a first surface of one of the ceramic matrix composite plies prevents bonding between the non-bonding portion of the first surface and a second surface of a neighboring ceramic matrix composite ply. At least one bonding portion of the first surface lacking the bond-inhibiting coating is bonded to the second surface. A method of forming a ceramic matrix composite component includes selectively applying a bond-inhibiting coating to a non-bonding portion of a first surface of a ceramic matrix composite ply and bonding the ceramic matrix composite plies together.
Ring molded article manufacturing method and ring material
Various implementations include a ring material used for producing a ring molded article. The ring molded article has two convex portions which respectively protrude on opposite sides of the ring molded article in a direction of a center axis thereof and extend in a direction of a circumference of the ring molded article. A straight line passing through centers of gravity of first and second side regions is inclined by an angle relative to the center axis of the ring material, the first and second side regions are obtained by virtually dividing a one half section of the ring material based on a middle of a maximum height of the ring material in the direction of the center axis of the ring material, and a range of the angle is 7 degrees to 40 degrees.
Turbine engine and air-blowing sealing method
A gas turbine engine includes a device for providing sealing between one rotor section and one stator section. The device includes a coating made of an abradable material attached to the stator section. The device further includes a lip on a portion of the rotor section. The lip is configured to form a seal with the abradable material. The gas turbine engine further includes passages for a gaseous fluid and means for blowing such gaseous fluid. The passages open into the rotor section provided with the lip, so that blown gaseous fluid can be present in a zone radially located between the coating and the lip.
Airfoil platform with cooling orifices
An airfoil includes an airfoil section and a platform from which the airfoil section extends. The platform defines a shelf that extends from the airfoil section to a platform edge. The shelf includes a plenum and a plurality of cooling orifices extend from the plenum toward the platform edge. Each of the cooling orifices has a first orifice end that opens to the plenum and a second, closed orifice end adjacent the platform edge.
TURBINE STATOR BLADE
According to an embodiment, a turbine stator blade disposed in a working fluid flow path in a casing of a gas turbine, includes: a blade effective part disposed in the working fluid flow path; an outer circumferential sidewall having a plate-shaped part that is connected to a radially outer end portion of the blade effective part, and hooks each extending radially outward and circumferentially from the plate-shaped part and having a tip engaged with the casing; and an inner circumferential sidewall connected to a radially inner end portion of the blade effective part. At least one slit is formed at the rear hook or front hook to divide the hook in a circumferential direction, and the hook has a seal member to seal the slit.
TURBINE ENGINE COMPONENT WITH A SET OF DEFLECTORS
An airfoil assembly defining a primary airflow path for a turbine engine comprising a platform, an airfoil extending from the platform and into at least a portion of the primary airflow path, a secondary airflow path comprising air from the primary airflow path, and a deflector provided within the secondary airflow path.
DEVICE FOR FASTENING SEALING PLATES BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A device for fastening sealing plates between components of a gas turbine engine includes guide vane ring which includes guide vane segments, wherein each guide vane segment includes an outer platform and an inner platform, sealed off from one another at ends by a sealing strip. The device furthermore includes a plurality of sealing plates which seal off the guide vane segments from a component which is adjacent in the upstream or downstream direction. The sealing strips in each case form a sealing section and an extension section, wherein the sealing section serves to seal off two mutually adjoining platforms, the extension section extends axially forward or axially rearward, starting from the sealing section, and projects from the platforms, and the extension section forms a holding element for at least one sealing plate or is connected to a separate holding element.
Rotor disc sealing flange sector
A sealing flange sector for a turbomachine rotor disc includes a radially outer part which is configured to bear at least partly against blades of the turbomachine rotor disc to ensure sealing between the blades and a radially inner part configured to bear on an annular strip mounted on a face of the turbomachine rotor disc, the radially inner part having a first groove disposed radially outwardly of a second groove. The first groove includes at least one foolproofing element.
Seal element for sealing a joint between a rotor blade and a rotor disk
A rotor assembly is provided for a piece of rotational equipment. This rotor assembly includes a rotor disk, a rotor blade and a seal element. The rotor disk is configured to rotate about a rotational axis. The rotor disk extends axially along the rotational axis to a rotor disk end face. The rotor blade includes an attachment. The attachment attaches the rotor blade to the rotor disk. The seal element is configured to seal a gap between the rotor disk and the attachment. The seal element has a longitudinal centerline that extends along an interface between the rotor disk and the attachment at the rotor disk end face.
Cooling arrangement including alternating pedestals for gas turbine engine components
A gas turbine engine component according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an external wall including adjacent bounding pedestals that extend from an external wall surface to establish a cooling passage, and including a common pedestal situated between the adjacent bounding pedestals to establish a first branched section and a second branched section of the cooling passage that join together at a merged section of the cooling passage. A method of fabricating a gas turbine engine component is also disclosed.
