Thus, when the turf section is struck by a swinging golf club, the turf section will flex, bend and move relative to the frame, thereby simulating the feel of creation of a divot. A tee box may be removably attached to the frame for allowing a golfer to practice teeing off. Multiple main and tee boxes may be attached together, both lengthwise and widthwise.

An erosion resistant composition includes a granular material and a wax including oil in which a weight percent of the oil in the wax is between 0.01-15%. The granular material includes a sand and has a first resistance to flow prior to being coated with the wax. The wax at least partially coats a portion of the granular material to form the erosion resistant composition which has a second resistance to flow after coating that is greater than the first resistance to flow prior to coating. The erosion resistant composition may be used, for example, in golf course bunkers or other landscaping applications. Related methods of making the erosion resistant composition are also described in which the granular material is dried, the wax is heated, and the granular material is blended with the melted wax.

One exemplary method is performed at an electronic device and includes: identifying a current topography of a putting green and a current position of a first user's ball on the putting green. The method also includes: determining, based on the current topography, a best path from the current position of the first user's ball to a target on the putting green. The method additionally includes: sending, to a projecting device that is distinct from the electronic device, instructions to render a representation of the best path on the putting green. In some embodiments, the method further includes: determining a backswing distance and/or speed and a corresponding follow-through distance and/or speed that allows the first user to hit the ball along the best path and providing instructions to render the backswing and follow-through distances on the putting green.

A golf target system featuring a hitting bay including a golf ball launch monitor system, a playing area including a plurality of illuminated panels, and a controller in communication with the golf ball launch monitor system and the plurality of illuminated panels, wherein the controller selectively controls the illumination of the plurality of panels to define one or more visual targets observable from the hitting bay and receives information from the golf ball launch monitor system such that, when a golf ball is hit from the hitting bay towards the playing area, the golf ball launch monitor system communicates data to the controller sufficient for the controller to identify a landing position of the golf ball with respect to the one or more visual targets.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to adapting a planar structure section to be retained against a cavity wall, stacking a first layer of the planar structure section and a second layer of a granular substance against the cavity wall, and constructing a barrier based on securing the stacked layers against the cavity wall with a barrier edge formed based on applying a coating of a viscoelastic substance and a coating of a loose-fill material to the stacked layers. In an illustrative example, the cavity wall may be a golf course bunker wall. The planar structure section may be, for example, carpet. In some embodiments, the granular substance may be sand. In various designs, the viscoelastic substance may be a prepolymer, and the loose-fill material may be peat moss. Various examples may advantageously provide more durable golf course bunker edges having improved playability at reduced maintenance effort and lower cost.
