A power plant includes a gas turbine including a turbine extraction port that is in fluid communication with a hot gas path of the turbine and an exhaust duct that receives exhaust gas from the turbine outlet. The power plant further includes a first gas cooler having a primary inlet fluidly coupled to the turbine extraction port, a secondary inlet fluidly coupled to a coolant supply system and an outlet in fluid communication with the exhaust duct. The power plant further includes a gas distribution manifold that is disposed downstream from the outlet of the first gas cooler and which receives a portion of the combustion gas or a portion of the cooled combustion gas and distributes the portion of the combustion gas or a portion of the cooled combustion to one or more secondary operations of the power plant.

A cogeneration process can include carrying out a power production cycle, providing a heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen, cooling the heated stream comprising carbon monoxide and hydrogen against at least one stream in the power production cycle so as to provide heating to the power production cycle, and carrying out at least one purification step so as to provide a purified stream comprising predominately hydrogen. A system for cogeneration of power and one or more chemical products can include a power production unit, a syngas production unit, one or more heat exchange elements configured for exchanging heat from a syngas stream from the syngas production unit to a stream from the power production unit, and at least one purifier element configured to separate the syngas stream into a first stream comprising predominately hydrogen and a second stream.

A method of operating a combined heat and power plant (10) (CHP plant) includes generating hot flue gas in a hot flue gas generator (12) and cooling the hot flue gas in a sequence of cooling steps to recover heat and to generate steam in a heat recovery steam generator (16) (HRSG). The HRSG (16) includes an HP steam evaporator (26) downstream of the hot flue gas generator (12) in which HP steam is generated and in which the hot flue gas is cooled, at least one HP steam superheater (20, 22) between the hot flue gas generator (12) and the HP steam evaporator (26) in which at least HP steam from the HP steam evaporator is superheated and in which the hot flue gas is cooled, and an MP steam superheater (24) upstream of the HP steam evaporator (26) in which MP steam is superheated by the hot flue gas and in which hot flue gas is cooled.

The operating method changes the traditional operation modes of the system determining electricity based on heat and determining electricity based on cooling, causes the system to regulate power of the generated electricity on grid, participate in the regulation of grid load, solve the problem of a limited ability of generation peak regulation due to the inter-coupling of power generation, heat supply and cooling supply.

A power plant includes an exhaust duct downstream from an outlet of a turbine which receives exhaust gas from the turbine outlet, a first ejector having a primary inlet that is fluidly coupled to a turbine extraction port and an outlet that is in fluid communication with the exhaust duct. The power plant further includes a second ejector having a primary inlet fluidly coupled to the compressor extraction port, a suction inlet in fluid communication with an air supply and an outlet in fluid communication with a suction inlet of the first ejector. The first ejector cools the stream of combustion gas via compressed air extracted from the compressor and cooled via the second ejector. The cooled combustion gas mixes with the exhaust gas within the exhaust duct to provide a heated exhaust gas mixture downstream from the exhaust duct.
