VALVE SEAT INSERT WITH SOFT LANDING INSERT DESIGN WITH CONTOURED RADII
A valve seat insert includes a top convex arcuate blend for improving fluid flow, and a valve seating surface for slowing down valve recession. The valve seating surface includes a radially outer convex arcuate segment defining an outer radius of curvature forming a first wear crown for contacting the valve at an early wear state, a radially inner convex arcuate segment defining an inner radius of curvature forming a second wear crown for contacting the valve at a later wear state, and a linear segment extending between the radially outer convex arcuate segment and the radially inner convex arcuate segment.
COIL SPRING
A coil spring of this invention includes a first end coil part with a first bearing surface facing to the first side in the axial direction, a second end coil part with a second bearing surface facing to the second side in the axial direction and a central coil part connecting the first and second end coil parts. A displacement length in the axial direction from the outer end portion until the inner end portion of the first end coil part is a thickness of a spring wire forming the coil spring so that a space between the outer end portion of the first end coil part and an inner end portion of the central coil part is zero, and a displacement length in the axial direction between the outer end portion of the first end coil part and a point away along the circumferential direction from the outer end portion toward the inner end portion of the first end coil part by a half of turn around the axial line is less than a half of the thickness of the spring wire.
LOST MOTION MECHANISM, VALVE GEAR AND ENGINE
A valve gear includes a lost motion mechanism including a lost motion spring. A pillar is inserted into the lost motion spring, and a seat supports a lower end portion of the lost motion spring. A protrusion is provided on an opposite side of the seat from the lost motion spring. When viewed from an axial direction of the lost motion mechanism, the protrusion does not project out of the seat. By fitting the protrusion into the recess of the cylinder head, the seat, i.e., the lost motion mechanism is attached to the cylinder head.
Hydraulic type scissors gear of vehicle engine
A hydraulic type scissors gear removes factors that generate a backlash due to reduction of tension of existing springs by generating a relative motion between gears using oil pressure. The hydraulic type scissors gear includes: a first gear having an operation chamber and supplied with oil in the operation chamber; a second gear coaxially disposed on a side of the first gear to be rotate relative to the first gear; and a piston configured to rotate the second gear by applying force that pushes the second gear in a rotational direction opposite to a rotational direction of the first gear by being moved in the operation chamber by oil pressure supplied to the operation chamber.
Rocker arm with an oil trough
A rocker arm assembly having a rocker arm including a pair of sidewalls, each sidewall defining a support aperture, a rocker arm support including a pair of opposed bearing support arms, each bearing support arm being disposed within a corresponding support aperture of the rocker arm and defining a lubrication groove extending along an outer surface thereof, and a pair of radial roller bearings, each including an inner cup, an outer cup, and a plurality of rollers disposed therebetween, wherein each radial roller bearing is disposed both on a corresponding bearing support arm and within a corresponding support aperture.
IGNITION PISTON
The ability of the ignition piston engine is to use the disel technic of igniting the fuel air mixture by compression with out using an injector. The ignition piston engine can burn a leaner air fuel mixture than any other engine there by giving a cleaner exhaust and more economy. The ignition piston engine can burn any type of fuel that flows in air and is combustable by heat; like gasolene, diesel, propane, natural gas, and kerosene in any desired air fuel mix. And it can do it with out using a spark plug.
System, method and tooling for flexible assembly of cylinder-head valve trains
An assembly method is provided by orienting a cylinder-head at a first orientation. A first plurality of spring caps and a first plurality of retainer keys are installed into the cylinder-head in the first orientation by a first robot. A first plurality of valves is installed into the cylinder-head in the first orientation by a second robot, into engagement with the first plurality of retainer keys. An end effector is provided with an actuator supported upon an adapter plate. A shaft extends from the actuator with a mating surface to engage a spring cap. Porting is provided through the shaft to convey pressurized air upon a plurality of retainer keys within the spring cap. A plurality of gripper fingers extend from the distal end of the shaft to grip a valve spring while retaining a spring cap between the valve spring and the mating surface of the shaft.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VARIABLE ACTUATION OF VALVES OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
In an internal combustion engine provided with an electro-hydraulic system for variable actuation of the intake valves of the engine, each cylinder has two intake valves, which are associated with two intake conduits and are controlled by a single cam of a camshaft through a single hydraulic circuit. The communication of the hydraulic actuators of the two intake valves with a discharge channel is controlled by two electrically-actuated control valves, both of an on/off two-position type, arranged in series with each other along a hydraulic line for communication between the a pressure volume and the discharge channel.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND VEHICLE
An internal combustion engine includes, as a lost motion spring that urges a rocker arm toward a cam, a compression coil spring supported on a cylinder head. A shaft is located on an inner side of the compression coil spring and extends along a winding axis of the compression coil spring. The internal combustion engine significantly reduces or prevents a decrease in the fuel efficiency and an increase in the size of the variable valve mechanism, while surging is unlikely to occur while running at a high speed, and it is possible to reduce the size or the weight of the rocker arm.
